Experience from the beginning of police
After graduation, I bid farewell to the campus and became a prison policeman. After knowing this, my friend said half jokingly, "You work in a prison and face criminals, so don't you just serve criminals?" The day before I reported for duty, when I heard that the prison where I was going to work was a felon prison, and most of the prisoners had been held for more than 15 years, my family and friends repeatedly urged me to be more careful after going to work. I nodded, and dark doors and cold locks kept popping up in my mind.
Actually, I didn't know about prison until a long time ago. I remember when I was in high school, Prison Storm starring Chow Yun Fat was being broadcast on TV, which left a deep impression on me, such as dark prisons and criminals who killed each other in cold blood. In my hometown, many people often use words such as "If this continues, I will be sent to a labor camp one day" and "prison". The educational effect is remarkable and good. I shudder at the thought of "close contact" with prisons and criminals tomorrow.
The next morning, I came to the prison gate, looking ordinary, neat and quiet. I can't see that this is a heavily guarded prison for felons. Under the guidance of the comrades on duty, I came to the political department to report for duty. After completing the formalities, Director Gao of the Political Department took us to the prison area to familiarize ourselves with the environment. This time I came to an iron gate, which was majestic but quiet, far away from the dark door I imagined. Into one door after another, watching the leaders of the political department hand in their certificates, register and get them. After strict inspection, we went through a big garden and came to the playground. Director Gao told us that this is the activity place for prisoners. In front is the teaching building, which contains classrooms, libraries, computer training centers and a multi-functional hall for criminals to carry out cultural and sports activities. Director Gao also said that in order to enrich the reform life of criminals, the prison holds many large-scale cultural and sports activities every year, such as literary evenings, basketball games and garden activities, which is very helpful to improve the quality of prisoners' education and reform. Our original tension is fading a little, and the harmonious environment makes people feel that they have returned to the familiar campus.
After a week of training, I entered the prison area on duty. On the playground in the prison area, the criminals wore uniform clothes and had uniform hairstyles, and the ranks were uniform, which made me feel like I was in a military camp. Seeing that I was a "stranger", their eyes fell on me curiously. "Dear prisoners, this is the new policeman Chen in our prison area, who is responsible for the daily management of a prison area." After the roll call, the prison leaders simply introduced me to them. There was a burst of applause in the team, which made me feel a little surprised. The prison is engaged in the clothing business. Unexpectedly, a lout can play the electric clothes cart so skillfully. Throughout the afternoon, criminals sat quietly in their respective parking spaces, and only melodious songs, clicking clothes and cars echoed in the workshop.
Time passed quickly, and an afternoon passed quickly. Stay in prison with an old comrade at night to work the night shift. I organize criminals to call the roll, watch the news, make comments and conduct inspections. After a busy night, I finally have leisure. I picked up the newspaper on the table and flipped through it at will. Suddenly, an interview in Guangdong prison caught my attention. Tells a successful entrepreneurial story of a parolee serving a sentence. In the article, he showed great gratitude and admiration to the prison people's police. What is even more unexpected is that this parolee is a criminal who served his sentence in our prison not long ago. With some curiosity and questions, I specially asked the old comrades on duty together. Old comrades seem to see my doubts and tell me about prisons, all kinds of criminals, and bits and pieces of reforming high criminals.
Unexpectedly, there are so many stories hidden behind Qiu. When he first entered the prison, he was a famous "top-reverse reform" in the prison area. He was impulsive and out of control. Anyway, he has everything he should have and everything he shouldn't have. He is a typical "stubborn dangerous criminal" and "troublemaker". At that time, Qiu's family saw what he had done and gradually lost confidence in him, but the prison police never gave up and firmly believed that people could be transformed. Because no one has met for a long time, Qiu's account has no money and lacks daily necessities. In view of his situation, the prison police first paid attention to his life, bought some necessities for Qiu prisoners after reporting to the leaders for approval, and at the same time actively contacted his family to encourage them to help and educate, and organized a research group to carry out ideological research and education for Qiu prisoners, which finally made them completely wake up.
In fact, criminals come here for various reasons, some are impulsive and some are helpless, but even criminals with deep crimes will have "contacts" in their hearts. Our education work is to find this contact point, open the criminal's heart knot and let the criminal release his heart from the "prison" first. Prison work should not only ensure the safety and stability of supervision, but also transform criminals into law-abiding citizens and even people who have contributed to society. Old comrades proudly told me that not only Ye Canhui was posthumously awarded as a "courageous activist" by the Dongguan Municipal People's Government, but also many successful entrepreneurs and technicians. The typical entrepreneur Qiu is just a small microcosm.
The old comrades then described the development and changes of prisons under the scientific leadership of the provincial bureau, the hardships and happiness of prison work, the major activities carried out in recent years, and his understanding of prison work, comprehensive views on safety, fair law enforcement and scientific transformation. He always has a confident smile on his face.
Suddenly I remembered my friend's joke and asked a question, "Who is the prison police for?" . The faces of the old comrades suddenly became serious again. "It is our duty to transform the people inside the wall and let the people outside the wall live well. This is the best service for the people. " The voice of the old comrades is loud and powerful.
