Suqian College was established in 2002, located in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. It is a full-time provincial public institution of higher learning organized by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province.

At the beginning of the college's establishment, it adopted the school-running system of "eight universities in provinces and cities": Suzhou University, Yangzhou University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing University of Technology, Jiangsu Normal University, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Institute of Technology and Nanjing Normal University jointly organized undergraduate education.

On May 20 14, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formally established as a private college at the undergraduate level. In March 2020, the Ministry of Education sent a letter agreeing that Suqian College should be transformed into a provincial public university.

Construction achievements:

Suqian College's "Wireless ZigBee+ Mobile 4G City Smart Street Lamp Control Technology" won the third prize of Suqian 20 14 Science and Technology Award. This is the first time that the scientific research achievements led by Suqian College teachers have won this honor.

Since the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", it has undertaken more than national and provincial scientific research projects10/0, and won more than 40 provincial and municipal scientific research achievement awards10; Teachers have published more than 4,200 papers, including more than 40 papers retrieved by EI, SCI and SSCI 1040.
