How to treat the theory of aggression and meritorious service of capitalist imperialism
Imperialism's invasion of China cannot be said to be completely useless. For example, the Opium War awakened some intellectuals in China and accelerated the demise of feudalism.

The imperialist powers invaded China, which objectively created certain conditions for the development of capitalism in China and promoted the development of capitalism in China to some extent. But this is completely different from the "active invasion of China" advocated by western colonialists. The purpose of the imperialist powers' invasion of China is by no means to help China develop capitalism. Its role in promoting the development of capitalism in China is objective. As Marx said, they just acted as unconscious tools of history.

This objective effect is also limited. With the deepening of the invasion by imperialist powers, imperialism has increasingly become the main obstacle to the development of capitalism in China. After the Opium War, the imperialist powers forced China to sign a series of unequal treaties by waging a brutal war of aggression, thus controlling and manipulating China in all aspects. Politically, imperialist powers trampled on the sacred sovereignty of China, occupied territory in China, and seized China's customs sovereignty, judicial sovereignty, diplomatic rights and many other privileges. Economically, the imperialist powers controlled and mastered China's customs, monopolized China's financial, shipping, import and export trade and other economic privileges, and firmly controlled China's economic lifeline; Culturally, the imperialist powers paralyzed the spirit of the China people by preaching in China, running hospitals, running schools and attracting overseas students, and trained comprador literati to serve their aggressive policies; In addition, in the process of aggression, the imperialist powers committed heinous crimes against the people of China, causing immeasurable spiritual losses and injuries to the people of China.

Although it objectively created certain conditions for the development of capitalism in China, it promoted the development of capitalism in China to some extent. But this is completely different from the "active invasion of China" advocated by colonialists. The purpose of their aggression is by no means to help China develop capitalism. On the contrary, with the deepening of imperialist aggression, imperialism has increasingly become the most important obstacle to the development of capitalism in China. To answer this question, we should explain the imperialist aggression and the heinous crimes committed against the people of China from the economic, political and cultural aspects, so as to strengthen the persuasiveness of the argument and expose the ugly face of the aggressor who advocates "aggression against China is meritorious".

The invasion of western powers brought two changes to China. On the one hand, advanced modes of production appeared, national capitalism developed to a certain extent, and a single feudal society became a semi-feudal society. On the other hand, with the intensification of imperialist aggression, China has changed from an independent country to a semi-colonial country. Modern China was a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. Its basic characteristics are as follows: ① imperialist aggression forces are increasingly becoming the decisive force for ruling China; (2) China's feudal forces colluded with imperialism, which became the social basis for imperialism to enslave modern China; (3) Although the natural economic foundation of the feudal era was destroyed, the feudal exploitation system still existed, and combined with comprador capital and usury capital, it occupied a slight advantage in China's social and economic life; ④ Although national capitalism has developed, it has never become the main form of social economy in China. ⑤ Due to the division of the sphere of influence of imperialist powers in China and the individual existence of small-scale peasant economy, the political, economic and cultural development of China is extremely unbalanced. (5) Under the double oppression of imperialism and feudalism, the people of China, especially the peasants, are increasingly poor or even bankrupt, and the economic poverty and life insecurity of the people of China are rare in the world.

In modern China, the democratic oppression of imperialism was the greatest oppression, and imperialism was the first and most ferocious enemy of the people of China. The purpose of imperialist aggression against China is by no means to turn feudal China into capitalist China, but to turn China into their colony and semi-colony. Foreign capitalism has greatly decomposed China's social economy. On the one hand, it destroyed China's self-sufficient and self-confessed economic base, and destroyed small industrialists and peasant family craftsmen in the city. On the other hand, it has promoted the development of urban commodity economy. In this way, the invasion of capitalism and imperialism created some considerable conditions for the emergence and development of capitalism in China. (3) However, this is completely different from the "active invasion of China" shouted by western nationalists. First of all, this effect occurs in a considerable way. The purpose of the invasion of China by western powers is by no means to help China develop capitalism. Secondly, this influence is very limited to a considerable extent. If this role existed in the forties and sixties of 19, then in the 1970s, with the legalization of capital export from western powers to China and the initial development of capitalism in China, this role not only ceased to exist, but also became the main obstacle to the development of capitalism in China. Third, imperialism forced China to sign unequal treaties through brutal wars of aggression, controlled and manipulated China politically, economically and culturally, and finally gained the greatest economic benefits from China.
