In 2009, China Youshi University (Beijing) set up all-English master's degree programs in three first-class disciplines: petroleum and natural gas engineering, geological resources and geological engineering, and chemical engineering and technology. At present, the school has set up this major in five colleges (research institutes): local college, stone engineering college, chemical engineering college, information college and energy strategy research institute.
As a new postgraduate training mode, the Master of English program offers professional courses with reference to the professional training programs of foreign universities. All specialized courses are taught in English, and dissertations are also written in English (in order to comply with the regulations of degree management in China, the corresponding Chinese dissertations need to be archived). The lecturers of professional courses are all from professors with rich overseas academic experience in our school, professors from famous foreign universities and experts from multinational oil companies. Postgraduates who participate in the program have very broad development prospects, and some students with excellent grades will be given priority to be recommended for graduate study or sent abroad for joint training or doctoral degree; Project graduates give priority to the three major domestic oil companies.
After six years of exploration and practice, the postgraduate program for English majors has made great progress in system construction, teaching management and quality assurance. From the feedback from teachers, employers, graduates and other aspects, students' English level, professional knowledge and skills, international vision, innovative consciousness, communication ability and teamwork ability have been significantly improved through the training of the all-English master program. The all-English teaching and training mode has also been highly recognized by large domestic petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, which has better catered to the demand of international innovative talents for the "going out" strategy of China petroleum industry.
Second, enrollment majors and number of students
1. Our school will continue to offer master's degree courses in English in five colleges: College of Earth Sciences, College of Petroleum Engineering, College of Chemical Engineering, College of Geophysics and Information Engineering, and China Institute of Energy Strategy. In order to better meet the urgent demand of national economic construction and social development for high-level applied talents, give full play to the resources and technological advantages of China's petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, integrate high-quality educational resources between schools and enterprises, actively promote the reform of the training mode of professional degree graduates in our school, and improve the training quality and competitiveness of professional degree graduates. 20 10 School and Karamay Municipal Government and resident petroleum and petrochemical enterprises jointly established Karamay Institute of Engineers. Karamay Institute of Engineers mainly undertakes the education and training of excellent undergraduate engineers (mainly enterprise production practice and graduation design) and full-time postgraduate education (mainly enterprise professional practice and thesis research).
