Members of this discipline have backgrounds in law, sociology, molecular genetics, history, medicine and research. We provide a master's degree in biomedical ethics for graduate students selected from the departments of experimental medicine, family medicine, human genetics, research, religion and law.

Students obtain a master's degree, a master's degree in law or a master's degree in science through a discipline degree chosen by bioethics majors. Some applicants are mid-career professionals who are currently doctors, nurses, social workers, other health care providers or lawyers. Other applicants have recently completed undergraduate degrees in science, research, law, religious studies or other disciplines, and hope to receive professional master's training in bioethics before entering the doctoral stage or entering the workplace.
Master students usually need two semesters to start their master's thesis. Courses offered include bioethics theory, public health ethics and policies, research ethics and internships in clinical or research environments. It usually takes one year to study and write a paper. Students must also abide by the curriculum and thesis requirements of family subjects.
