In particular, its citation index shows unique scientific reference value and occupies an important position in academic circles. Many countries and regions regard the papers collected and cited by SCI as an important index to evaluate academic level. Judging from SCI's strict principles of journal selection and strict expert evaluation system, it has certain objectivity and truly reflects the level and quality of the paper. According to the inclusion and citation of SCI, we can reflect the development of academic level from one side. Especially the annual ranking of SCI papers has become a very important standard to judge the scientific research level of a school. SCI takes the current content as the data source. At present, there are more than 5,000 periodicals in the natural science database, including 1350 in the life science series. The data covers nuclear technology, bioengineering, transportation, chemical and technological engineering, lighting and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, computer and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communication, control engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, material engineering, petroleum, aerospace, automobile engineering and other disciplines.
