Cell Research publishes original research results with extraordinary significance or extensive conceptual or technical progress in various fields of life science, as long as the research is closely related to molecular and cell biology. Sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences, China Academy of Sciences, CellResearch is an international journal that publishes original research papers, reviews, express reports and reviews in cell biology and related fields at home and abroad in English.

Cell Research is the only Chinese periodical in the field of cell biology of ISISCI in the United States. In 2004, the impact factor of SCI was 1.936, ranking second among 7 1 periodicals selected in China, and the citation rate of periodical papers was over 90%.

CellResearch has been published by Index Medicus, MEDLINE, SCI (SciSearch Web of Science), Biosis, CA, Vinit, China Science Citation Database, Wanfang Database (CD-ROM version and online version), China English Sci-Tech Journal Database, China Sci-Tech Journal Database and China Academic Journal (CD-ROM version and online version).
