The Publishing Background of Modern History of China
In today's Chinese reading world, if you want to recommend a historian highly praised by scholars, entrepreneurs and other celebrities to ordinary readers such as white-collar workers and college students, Mr. Huang Renyu is undoubtedly one of the most popular candidates. 1982 In May, Zhonghua Book Company published Mr. Huang Renyu's first China historical work, Fifteen Years of Wanli, which brought people a very shocking reading experience and provided another dimension for thinking about society and history. This book has been popular for nearly 30 years and has become a necessary desk book for many writers, scholars, entrepreneurs and teachers and students in colleges and universities. It has won many praises: 20 books that have had the greatest influence on China in the past 20 years of reform and opening up, 300 books that have been the most influential in the past 30 years in China Book and Business Daily, 30 books in the 9th Shenzhen Reading Month, and good books and classics read by Sohu in 2009. In August 2006 and June 2007, 5438+ 10, Zhonghua Book Company revised the Fifteen Years of Wanli, supplemented relevant words, and published an updated commemorative edition and an updated edition of Fifteen Years of Wanli respectively, which was widely welcomed by readers and printed nearly 300,000 copies in just a few years, which witnessed the enduring charm of Huang Renyu's works. Huang Renyu's works published by Chinese mainland, or the so-called complete works of Huang Renyu, are not the best. For various reasons, Mr. Huang Renyu still has some single papers and essays scattered in newspapers and magazines in Britain, the United States, Germany and Hong Kong and Taiwan, which are difficult for mainland readers to retrieve. This is a pity for readers who love Mr. Huang Renyu and his works. In view of this, with the strong support of Mr. Zhe Sihuang, we collected and sorted out the works outside Mr. Zhe's collection through various channels, compiled them into books and presented them as special gifts to many fans. Mr. Huang Renyu once admitted that I hired my own journalist to write for the general public, and we thought that the formation of this book met his purpose. The history of China has always been the focus of Mr. Huang Renyu's reading here. He said: I became a historian because I wandered around and everything came from the turmoil in China. I came into contact with this industry and technology because the turbulent life caused my mental troubles. In order to find the answer to the question, I found that all the events in the world are closely linked. He added: My main task is to observe closely how the West meets the East and how the East merges with the West until the two merge into a complete world history. Mr. Huang Renyu experienced turbulence in his early years, joined the army to resist Japan, and lost to the United States in his middle age. During this period, he traveled all over the world for decades, inspected the process of advanced countries entering modernization, and looked back at the opportunity of China's breakthrough, which can be used as a reference for the motherland. In his works, he advocates abandoning ideological or moral disputes, focusing on investigating facts, looking at history from a technical point of view, and observing the real background of historical development and the real trend of the future. The words compiled in this book also reflect this feature. For this reason, we put forward the topic "The Course of Modern China", which was approved by Mr. Huang. The Catalogue of Huang Renyu Research Materials edited by Geng Liqun, the Taiwan Province Provincial Sinology Research Center, is the guiding light for editors to retrieve Mr. Huang Renyu's works. She also sent a lot of Huang Renyu's words from the editorial department, which made the book complete. This is something we must be especially grateful for. Mr. Lin Zaijue, chief publisher and editor-in-chief of Taiwan Province Lianjing Publishing Company, also expressed concern and support for the editor of this book. I want to thank you. Mr. Chen Shilong translated four English papers: Ni: Realism of Neo-Confucian Bureaucrats, Military Expenditure of Ming Dynasty in China in16th Century, Financial Management of Ming Dynasty and Characteristics of China Society. I want to thank you. Editors also need to thank Zhuang Huixun, Hong, Li Jing, Zhu Anshun, Yu Jin and many other ladies and gentlemen, who have contributed to the publication of this book in different ways. Finally, it should be noted that this series of words are mostly published in various newspapers and periodicals in different regions and periods, and their words and expressions are different from today's. In the process of editing and proofreading, generally do not make unified changes, keep the original appearance. Editorial Department of Zhonghua Book Company 20 1 1 June11.
