What is an open access journal?
Open Access (OA), or Open Access, is an action that international academic circles, publishing circles and library and information circles use the Internet to promote the free dissemination of scientific research results.

Its purpose is to promote the extensive exchange of scientific and humanistic information, promote the use of the Internet for scientific exchange and publication, enhance the utilization rate of scientific research, ensure the preservation of scientific information and improve the efficiency of scientific research.

By the end of 20 10, DOAJ * * had collected 4,953 OA journals, of which 20 14 provided article-level browsing, and * * * had collected 384,945 articles.

There are 1620 OA warehouses registered in OpenDOAR (an open access institutional resource database and subject resource database directory retrieval system jointly established by the University of Nottingham in the UK and Lund University Library in Sweden in February 2005).

Open Access Journal is a kind of free online journal, which aims to enable all users to obtain the full text of journal papers without restriction through the Internet.

This kind of periodical generally adopts the operation mode of paid publication by the author, free access by readers and unlimited use, and the copyright of the paper is reserved by the author. In the aspect of paper quality control, OA journals are similar to traditional journals and adopt strict peer review system.

Open access journals no longer use copyright restrictions to obtain and use published documents, but use tools such as copyright to ensure that documents can be permanently and publicly obtained.

2. Office automation warehousing

OA storage, also known as OA knowledge base, includes discipline-based storage and institution-based storage. Subject OA storage first appeared in the fields of physics, computer, astronomy and other natural sciences, and academic exchanges in specialized fields were conducted online in the form of preprinted copies.

So some academic organizations began to collect these academic information spontaneously and put it on the server for users to access and use for free. Up to now, OA storage in many disciplines still exists mainly in the form of preprint resource library, which is open to all researchers in a certain discipline or multiple disciplines and provides free literature access and retrieval services for communication and learning.

3. Other office automation resources

In addition to the above two forms, various other forms of OA resources emerge in an endless stream, such as personal websites, e-books, blogs, academic forums, file sharing networks and so on. However, these resources are released free of charge and lack strict quality assurance mechanism. Compared with the first two open access publishing forms, they are more random and have mixed academic value.
