Abstract: Salinger began to publish short stories in the 1940s, and became an internationally renowned figure in the 1960s. After he published his masterpiece The Catcher in the Rye, he became a hit and began to avoid public attention, so Salinger's life became mysterious, and he was as mysterious as a mystery. This paper tries to get a glimpse of JD Salinger's spiritual world from the autobiographical nature in the novel The Catcher in the Rye, and analyzes his religious belief, obsession, anti-war, hatred of school and sincere yearning to get a deeper understanding of JD Salinger, a hermit writer.
