In recent years, there have been worrying problems in the field of food safety in China. Sudan red in KFC chicken, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate in tofu, poisonous vegetables in jiaozi ... More dangerous is melamine, which not only appears in milk in large quantities, but also exists in eggs. These various food safety problems, just like the current global financial crisis, have swept the whole earth, brought serious impacts on people's lives and health, and even touched everyone's heart.
Food safety problems do exist around us. My hometown is in the countryside, rich in edible fungi. I remember the last time I went home and visited the whole production process of mushrooms. When my uncle and I walked into the mushroom shed, a warm current with the smell of mushrooms came face to face. My uncle told me that this is the place where mushrooms are made and showed me the production process. I saw my uncle working with other boys. I was fascinated by it, but in the end I felt something was wrong. I saw them make mushroom tube bags and soak them in paraffin liquid. My uncle told me that soaking in paraffin can not only ensure that the mushroom sticks will not rot, but also be waterproof. After the mushrooms grow, it can also ensure that the water of the mushrooms will not be lost, which plays a very good role in keeping fresh. After listening to their introduction to the function of paraffin, I became more and more wrong with the word "paraffin" and decided to make it clear.
When I got home, the first thing I did was turn on the computer and search for knowledge about paraffin. Finally understand its true colors. It turns out that wax is an industrial product, also called industrial paraffin. It is a complex chemical composition, and its dangerous component is mainly benzene, which is a very harmful substance to human body. Experts point out that it is the chief culprit of human skin cancer and lung cancer. I was shocked to read the introduction. It turns out that this is the "mushroom" that is strictly forbidden to eat on TV. Seeing this, I finally understand that these mushroom farmers, in order to earn a lot of money and pursue the greatest self-interest, put industrial paraffin into the production of edible fungi to produce poisonous mushrooms. They don't know that this kind of behavior is a crime, which not only affects people's lives and health, but also causes diplomatic disputes and damages China's international image if these mushrooms are exported abroad. It is really wrong of them to do so.
It turns out that food safety problems happen around us, and may be happening to us, endangering our health. I think our country should attach great importance to food safety. Only by strengthening legislation and strictly enforcing the law can we put an end to these problems. At the same time, as a primary school student, we should also actively participate in the propaganda of food safety, so that more people can understand the harm of food safety, resist pesticide food, chemical food and problem food, and let food safety go hand in hand with our health.
Food safety and humanity
Generally speaking, food is what people eat and drink every day. Specifically, it refers to all kinds of finished products and raw materials for human consumption or drinking, as well as articles that are traditionally both food and medicine, but do not include articles for therapeutic purposes.
Food safety means that food is non-toxic and harmless, meets nutritional requirements and does not cause any acute, subacute or chronic harm to human health. Unsafe food becomes "problem food".
When it comes to food safety, people are extremely concerned and worried. Because with the continuous progress of economy and society, the continuous development of economic globalization and the diversification of people's food culture, food hygiene and safety has become a hot topic of great concern. "Sudan Red Incident", "Water-injected Meat" and the recent "Sanlu Milk Powder Incident" all affect the hearts of the general public. With the diversified development of food, various additives are constantly being refurbished and emerged, and are constantly added to food. There are additives in the floss and melamine in the milk powder. Although the information about food safety in modern society is asymmetric, it may be the default of consumers. Considering the food we eat every day and the people around us, most people agree with the view that "out of sight is clean". Yes, when you eat food, you don't think about the production process of the food, and you don't really think about whether it has passed the national hygiene inspection. You only consider the taste, but sometimes you eat "problem food". In my opinion, the production of "problem food" by manufacturers not only affects people's life safety, but also seriously threatens the national reputation. This is undoubtedly a shame, a kind of incompetence, and a manifestation of the extinction of human nature.
When food safety problems occur, people will first think of sellers and manufacturers. Yes, the pursuit of interests is the bounden responsibility of enterprises, but we can't lose humanity; Yes, the competition between enterprises is mainly price, but it is impossible to inject water into pork; Yes, the distribution of interests among enterprises, within enterprises and between enterprises and people is sometimes distorted, but they cannot bear the health of consumers.
Of course, enterprises have their responsibilities, but officials of relevant state departments can't stand idly by. It is their responsibility to put people's interests first and rely on national laws and regulations to protect people's health. There is a saying that "it is better to go home and sell sweet potatoes than to be an official." At present, it is urgent to establish a food safety system. Now, the Food Safety Law has given some people a "reassurance". There are standards for food safety, but every enterprise has its own "standards", and sometimes the standards cannot be implemented, because some local officials, leaders and manufacturers "collude" and have so-called inspection-free products, which are sold directly without inspection. This can be said to be irresponsible to the party and the people.
Consumers' own awareness of prevention and self-safety and health protection are also indispensable. Of course, when buying food, you can't simply believe the boasted advertisements: quality first, and so on. From the understanding of some consumers, they all rely on advertisements, frankly: who will buy food with the second quality if there is quality first? On the other hand, if you are not responsible for your health, who will care about you?
When food safety problems occur, people's health will be threatened. Faced with such a serious problem, why is there "problem food"? Where is the so-called humanity? As the top of the natural biological chain, aren't we reaping the consequences?

First, the current situation of food safety in China:
For a long time, reports on all kinds of inferior foods have become a major topic that we can see in the media almost every once in a while. For example, inferior milk powder, inferior flour, inferior rice, inferior bean products, dyed white stripes, water-injected meat, Sudan red and the melamine incident that is now raging, we can make a long list. These frequently exposed food processing shady scenes are no longer unfamiliar to consumers. Supervision departments at all levels have never stopped law enforcement inspections, and they will intensify law enforcement inspections before major festivals such as New Year's Day and Spring Festival every year. In 2007, they also conducted a nationwide survey on food safety hazards. Various laws and regulations have been formulated one after another, such as People's Republic of China (PRC) Food Hygiene Law and People's Republic of China (PRC) Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Law. It can be seen that China has an iron wrist in rectifying food safety. However, it is puzzling that in recent years, regulatory authorities at all levels have not made great efforts, but inferior foods are still emerging one after another, just like foods containing melamine are constantly exposed, which seriously threatens people's lives and health and makes us feel nervous from time to time.
2. Characteristics of food safety problems in China:
The problem of food safety seems to be more and more serious. To sum up, there are three characteristics: First, problem foods are becoming more and more widespread. Problem foods have expanded from traditional staple foods such as grain, oil, meat, poultry, eggs, vegetables, bean products and aquatic products to fruits, alcohol, dry goods from north to south, dairy products, roasted seeds and nuts, etc. , showing a three-dimensional and all-round trend. Second, the harm degree of problem food is getting deeper and deeper, which has moved from the health hazard outside food to the safety hazard inside food. In the past, we only paid attention to the total number of bacteria in food, but now it is the residues of pesticides, fertilizers and chemicals that go deep into food. Third, the methods of making drugs and inferior products are more and more diverse, more and more "in-depth" and more and more hidden, from the outside to the inside of food, from physics to chemistry. Judging from the exposure of toxic and harmful foods, the means of making drugs and making fakes by criminals are innovative and diverse. I'm afraid you can't do it, but I'm afraid you can't think of it.
Three. Causes of food safety problems:
1. Due to the weak supervision of relevant departments on food safety production and operation, the phenomenon of serious illegal production and sales of unqualified food in China's food industry has been repeatedly banned. China's food supervision has always adopted the mode of subsection management, supplemented by variety management. In the actual operation process, various functional departments either compete for supervision, repeat law enforcement, or fight for everything, which provides an opportunity for some food industries to illegally produce and sell unqualified food.
2. There are many defects and problems in the legal system of food safety in China, which provide living space for many problematic foods. China's food safety law is too general and difficult to operate, and these laws, regulations and standards are seriously lagging behind. Some existing food safety standards are low, many indicators are far below international standards, and many important standards have not yet been formulated, which provides an opportunity for those manufacturers and enterprises that illegally produce ultra-low and unqualified foods.
3. Consumers' lack of food knowledge may also lead to food safety problems. First of all, consumers lack common sense to buy safe food. Due to low income level, insufficient consumption power and lack of corresponding common sense, many consumers in our country are indifferent to safety awareness when buying food, and often only want to be cheap, regardless of the quality and hygiene of food. There are also some consumers who always take chances when buying cheap food, special food and food without quality guarantee, thinking that everyone is buying, and others have not had any problems after eating these cheap foods for many years, but now they will be fine if they eat them again. Under the support of consumers' psychology, it opens a channel for the sale of problem food. Secondly, many consumers lack the common sense of eating food scientifically, which may lead to some diseases and even food poisoning. For example, from August to June, 2009, there were four consecutive incidents of lentil poisoning in Fengtai District, Beijing, with 64 patients. According to the investigation, the main cause of poisoning is that the chef did not cook and fry the lentils. In fact, lentils, peas and green beans all contain natural toxins. If they are eaten by people without complete heating, they may lead to food poisoning. If people know these basic knowledge in advance when cooking, they can avoid this kind of food poisoning.
Four, some suggestions to strengthen food safety:
First, it is suggested that the government issue a white paper on national food industry development planning, and put forward the objectives and policies of food industry development and food safety in stages from a macro perspective. At present, the State Council has made the "Decision on Further Strengthening Food Safety Work", and most provincial and municipal governments have also put forward the implementation opinions on carrying out special food safety rectification work, hoping that the state will have an overall long-term guidance on the development of food industry and food safety.
The second is to prevent pollution of agricultural products from the source. Advocate "pollution-free food", "green food" and "organic food", determine the macro-planning of planting and breeding structure according to local characteristics, organically organize the production of advantageous agricultural products in various regions, and give appropriate policy concessions and public opinion-oriented support. Vigorously improve agricultural technology extension institutions, guide agricultural producers to plant and breed scientifically, continue to promote the national "pollution-free food action plan", and establish a unified and standardized agricultural product quality and safety standard system.
Third, vigorously improve the level of food industry. Optimize the product structure, encourage the production of famous products, support large-scale and intensive food enterprise groups, and strengthen the quality management of the whole process of "raw materials-processing-circulation-sales". It is suggested to popularize ISO and HACCP certification in the whole industry, implement systematic quality management as a "one-vote veto system" for market safety access, and ban processing enterprises that do not have food safety production conditions.
The fourth is to strengthen supervision and punishment in the field of food circulation. Food safety is a major event related to the national economy and people's livelihood. The government should unify the organization, fully implement the market inspection system, strictly implement the delisting system for unqualified foods, strengthen the management of food safety labeling and packaging, strictly control the production and use of food additives, organize the research and production of high-efficiency and low-toxic food additives, and resolutely plug the regulatory loopholes in the field of food circulation.
Fifth, attach great importance to food safety publicity and supervision. To give full play to the role of news media in public opinion supervision, we should not only continue to expose and expose illegal and criminal acts in food safety, but also vigorously popularize food safety knowledge, cultivate consumers' awareness of self-protection, put an end to the phenomenon of "nothing strange", and strive to create a good social atmosphere in which everyone cares about food safety and everyone attaches importance to it, just like traffic safety. In addition, we should also see that only improving the food supervision system is not enough to solve the food safety problem. From these food safety incidents, we should also see a moral deficiency as a businessman. Why do manufacturers pursue wealth and abandon people's life, health and safety? These events destroyed the order of market economy and challenged the bottom line of social civilization-socialist market economy, which is both legal economy and moral economy. A people-oriented modern society must never let go of the behavior of forgetting profits and righteousness, and must never allow basic moral degeneration.
Honesty is the premise of social contract, and morality is the cornerstone of commercial civilization. If integrity is lacking, morality is corrupt, right and wrong are indistinguishable, honor and disgrace are reversed, and the bottom line of civilization falls, even the best system will not take effect, and even the fastest development will cause problems. The sage Mencius once said that old people are old, young people are young, and young people are young. This includes the pursuit of social morality and the restraint of self-morality. Please ask yourself: Are we getting farther and farther away from the traditional virtues left by our ancestors? Has it deviated from social morality? The painful lesson tells entrepreneurs that while chasing profits, they must stick to their moral bottom line, shoulder their due social responsibilities, and sacrifice morality and consumer interests in exchange for profits, which will inevitably pay a heavy price.
The system problems and moral deficiencies exposed by food safety incidents have also sent an early warning signal to the whole society. In the framework of a country's civilization, morality and law are inseparable. We must run the country by law and by virtue at the same time. In the process of perfecting the socialist market economy and promoting modernization, it is necessary to improve the problems existing in existing laws and regulations, fill the legal gaps and blind spots in the process of law enforcement, strengthen law enforcement, make food safety issues have laws to follow, and provide strong legal protection for moral construction. At the same time, moral construction cannot be relaxed for a moment. Only by carrying out the education of socialist concept of honor and disgrace in the whole society, and vigorously strengthening the construction of civic morality, professional ethics, enterprise ethics and social morality, and forming a good environment of honesty and law-abiding in the whole society, can we effectively build a solid defense line of social civilization and comprehensively promote the development of economic and social sciences.
