Excellent and rich cultural background can often achieve excellent graphic design works and provide viewers with a kind of artistic conception beauty. By creating a space where truth and reality coexist, they will have an emotional voice with the viewer, narrow the distance and create an infinite imagination space. Therefore, how to apply traditional artistic expression techniques to modern graphic design works, combine modern elements with traditional aesthetic thoughts, promote the inheritance and innovation of China's traditional aesthetic thoughts in modern art, make design works embody deeper cultural connotations, and enrich and develop modern graphic design theories has become a key issue for contemporary designers.

First, the theory of virtual and real coexistence.

(1) What is virtual and real?

"The combination of reality and fiction" refers to fiction and fact's mutual connection, mutual penetration and mutual transformation, reaching the realm of the coexistence of reality and fiction, thus greatly enriching the images in the works, opening up the artistic conception of the works, providing readers with a broad aesthetic space and enriching people's aesthetic taste. Virtual reality stresses the expression of artistic conception. "Reality" refers to concrete objects and real scenes, which are visible to the naked eye, while "emptiness" is a blank in the picture. In addition, other design works of MUJI also skillfully use the combination of reality and fiction, and their design style is influenced by the aesthetic consciousness of minimalism, giving people a feeling of "nothingness", which seems to be nothingness, but can accommodate all rivers. The real scene and ethereal picture contrast and reflect each other, which can leave the audience with room for imagination. For example, in the packaging design of "Yun Guan Orange", the creative technique of combining reality with reality is also used. "Yun Guan Orange" is a double-line brand of "Chu Orange", and its packaging design is in the form of illustration. The whole picture is a fruitful tree, and the characters beside the tree record the ups and downs of Chu Lao's life and every special moment. Virtual reality emphasizes artistic conception, without absolute "reality" or absolute "emptiness". In the color theory of modern graphic design, we can also see the influence of reality on color. Laozi thinks that "five colors are blind and five tones are deaf". Therefore, contemporary graphic design should analyze and study the traditional artistic expression techniques, apply the traditional aesthetics of virtual reality to modern graphic design works, and explore the unique beauty belonging to China.

Culture is the direct source of design, and design plays an important role in the development and construction of culture, and the two complement each other. However, at present, China's design works do not convey excellent cultural connotation well, and the long-standing traditional culture is getting farther and farther away from people's lives, and even forgotten by people.
