The same life offers different prices.
"Same life but different price" refers to the phenomenon that in some cases, the amount of disability compensation and death compensation obtained is far from each other because of the different household registration of the victims in urban and rural areas. This system has been questioned in China's death compensation system. On June 27th, 2009, Shengming Wang, deputy director of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) Law Committee, made a detailed interpretation of China's tort liability legal system, and clearly expressed his views on the issue of "same life but different price" in death compensation, that is, life cannot be compared with money.
