The College of Food Science has five doctoral programs and four master programs, and five undergraduate and specialized programs, including food science and engineering, food quality and safety, tea science, packaging engineering and tea culture.
After more than 20 years of construction and development, the school has a modern teaching and research laboratory building (4600 square meters) invested by the Ministry of Agriculture and loaned by the World Bank, and advanced instruments and equipment. At present, there are 70 faculty members, including 6 doctoral supervisors, 4 professors/kloc-0, 2 associate professors and 2 associate researchers/kloc-0, and 5 people are working and studying abroad. At present, undergraduate students 10 1 1, master students and doctoral students 2 18. The systematic teaching plan compiled by this subject has become the basis and main reference materials for undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in agricultural products processing, storage or food processing in agricultural universities across the country. Since 1983, more than 350 doctoral and master students and more than 3000 undergraduates have been trained. Graduates spread all over the country, most of them become the backbone of teaching and scientific research and academic leaders in agricultural colleges, and some become famous entrepreneurs and government management cadres. For more than 20 years, the College of Food Science has carried out extensive international exchanges and cooperation, and has successively established inter-school contacts with similar disciplines in relevant scientific research institutions such as the United States, Japan, Britain, France, Germany, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Israel, and South Korea, and sent 25 teachers to 10 countries for further study and degree study. Most of them have returned to China and made important academic achievements. There are 9 visiting professors at home and abroad, including 2 from abroad, 2 from Taiwan Province Province and 5 from China. At the same time, it has established close cooperation in production, learning and research with more than a dozen domestic large and medium-sized food industrial enterprises such as Chongqing Dingyi Group, Heavy Beer Group, Guangyou Group, Longdu Xiangming Group, Le Hui Group, Anhua Group, Ruiyang Biotechnology Company, Taiji Group, Zhacai Group, Dezhuang Group, Simianshan Zanthoxylum Bunge Co., Ltd., Jinpu Food Co., Ltd. and Youyou Food Co., Ltd., and undertaken international, national and provincial cooperation. Won 36 national, provincial and municipal achievement awards, published important academic papers 1589, and published 30 textbooks and monographs in Yu Ben. Transfer technical achievements 165, develop new products 150, increase output value by 850 million yuan, and realize tax profit of 330 million yuan.
The Tea Department and Tea Research Institute of our school were established in the early 1950s under the care of Cha Sheng, then vice minister of agriculture Wu Juenong. Under the leadership of the late famous tea scientist Professor Lv Yunfu (1907- 1990), with the efforts of several generations, it has now become a multi-level and multi-directional key discipline in higher education with the right to award doctoral, master and bachelor degrees. Tea culture major is a demonstration major of the Ministry of Education.
At present, there are doctoral supervisors 1 person, professors, associate professors and associate researchers1person, and 8 lecturers and teaching assistants. There are laboratories for tea cultivation, tea breeding, tea processing, tea machinery, tea evaluation and inspection, tea chemistry, tea culture and a number of teaching practice bases. Since its establishment, the Department has recruited more than 70 doctoral students, master students and foreign students, with more than 300 students 1.300. It has contributed to the progress of tea science and the prosperity of tea economy and culture in China, and has become the center of tea science research, development, demonstration and promotion in western tea-growing areas and the research base of western history and culture in China.
