In the doctoral thesis "The Aesthetic Relationship between Art and Reality", the topic of "Beauty is life" was put forward. Nikolai Chernyshevski (1828- 1889), a Russian materialist philosopher and revolutionary democratic writer, has made outstanding contributions in many fields such as philosophy, political economy and history. His theory of combat aesthetics, literary criticism and literary creation have always occupied a prominent position in the history of Russian literature, and he has written the novel What should I do? "Prelude" and Aesthetic Papers. 1855, Chernyshevski put forward the conclusion that "beauty is life" in his doctoral thesis "Aesthetic Relationship between Art and Reality". However, the Academic Committee of St. Petersburg University disagreed with Chernyshevski's artistic views and did not approve his doctoral thesis.
