How to design and carry out modern ecological research
Ecology is a science that studies the relationship and function between biology and environment. In the past century, with the rapid increase of the world population, the unreasonable exploitation and utilization of natural resources and environment by human beings, and the constant interference and destruction of ecosystems, the global ecological environment has undergone tremendous changes. For example, global warming, sea level rise, air and water pollution, biological invasion, loss of biodiversity, intensified desertification, ecosystem degradation, water shortage and a series of global eco-environmental problems and ecological disasters [1], young ecologists are active in academic thinking, bold and enterprising, and easy to accept new ideas, methods and new things, which is a new force in the development of modern ecology in China. They come from all over the country and from different disciplines. The historical mission and the development of the situation have promoted these young scholars to explore the frontier issues of ecology [1]. Young ecologists face a series of challenges and undertake arduous tasks. Their growth is more related to the development of ecology, and they are the hope to lead the future international ecological development.

The International Forum of Young Ecologists is held once a year on average. It is jointly organized by the Chinese Ecological Society, the China Overseas Ecologists Association and the International Forum Committee of Young Ecologists. It aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation among young ecologists, between young ecologists and senior ecologists, and between China and overseas ecologists, so as to promote the promotion of ecological research ability and the growth of young ecologists in China. The first International Forum of Young Ecologists was held in Lanzhou University from June 29th to 30th, 2009. The forum was attended by 300 students and young scholars from more than 65,438+000 scientific research institutes at home and abroad. The content of the report is "Macroecology and Sustainable Development", focusing on the hot areas such as plant-soil interaction, structure and function of regional ecosystem, ecological security and ecological planning, ecological process of global change and environmental sustainable development. The second forum was held in Nanjing University from August 0 to 4, 201/KLOC-0, with nearly 400 students and young scholars from home and abroad attending. Focusing on the theme of "Hot ecological issues under the background of global change", the forum was conducted from seven aspects: plant community, plant physiological ecology, underground ecology, aquatic ecosystem, biological invasion, biodiversity and regional ecological security. The third forum was held in Henan University (Kaifeng) from June 6 to June 4, 2002. About 100 young scholars and students from scientific research institutes at home and abroad conducted extensive exchanges around the theme of "How to effectively carry out research and publish English papers" and achieved good results. The 4th Forum was held in Guangzhou from June 9th, 20 13 to June 5th, 20 13. Sponsored by south china botanical garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Ecological Society, Sun Yat-sen University and China Overseas Ecologists Association. The theme of the forum is "Models and processes of restoration of degraded ecosystems under the background of global change". Young scholars and students from home and abroad had a heated exchange and discussion on this topic, which further increased the influence of the forum [4].

The 5th International Forum of Young Ecologists was held in Henan University (Kaifeng) from May 6 to 8, 2004. The theme of the forum is "How to design and carry out modern ecological research?" The participants of the forum are about 65,438+000 students and young ecologists from about 60 scientific research institutions in 4 countries. Participants submitted abstracts of papers online and were screened as speakers. The purpose of this forum is to provide a platform for young ecologists at different levels and in different ecological fields to exchange and discuss. The conference is divided into five aspects, three sub-venues and 42 lectures, including expert lectures 14 and 28 student lectures. On the first day of the meeting, the Party Secretary of Henan University made an opening speech. Specially invited experts Richard J.Norby, Luo Yiqi, Chen Jiquan, Hu, Vlo Niinemets, Chen Han, Jeffrey S. Ducks, Guo, Niu Shuli gave speeches respectively, introducing some new theories, methods and technologies of current international ecological research. The next day, the students made a report in groups, and experts gave relevant guidance on the content and format of the report. In the end, three journalists, Gu Gujia, Gu Gujia and Gu Gujia, won the "Yang Rising Ecologist Award", and other journalists from 19 Forum won the "Yang Career Promotion Award" respectively. On the last day of the forum, Professor Wan Shiqiang, the organizer of the forum, made a summary report. After the meeting, the participants of the forum visited the experimental field on the campus of Henan University and introduced the design of its control experiment.
