-Introduction to the School of Science-
Shanghai University School of Science is a basic and research-oriented college focusing on modern basic scientific theory and related applied science and technology. The college consists of five departments: Mathematics Department, Physics Department, Statistics Department, Sustainable Energy Research Institute and Nanotechnology Research Center. It has a talent training system covering doctoral, master and bachelor education levels. At present, there are two national post-doctoral research stations, two first-class doctoral degree authorization points (mathematics and physics), 13 second-class doctoral degree authorization points, and four first-class academic master degree authorization points (mathematics, statistics, physics and statistics). Six undergraduate majors (Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Information and Computational Science, and Application) have seven national and provincial scientific research platforms (International Science and Technology Cooperation Base of Ministry of Science and Technology of Nano-composite Functional Materials, Engineering Center of Ministry of Education of Materials Compounding and Advanced Dispersion, Shanghai Institute of Mathematics and System Science, Shanghai Key Laboratory of High Temperature Superconducting, Shanghai Research Center of Resources and Environment New Materials and Applied Engineering Technology, Shanghai Professional Technology and Service Platform of Advanced Composite Materials Design and Manufacturing, and Shanghai Industry-University-Research Cooperation Center of New Materials and Applications). Shanghai first-class discipline (mathematics) 1, Shanghai plateau discipline (mathematics, physics) 2, Shanghai Youth Innovation Practice Workstation1-Shanghai University Mathematics Practice Workstation, and 3 talent training experimental bases, including basic mathematics laboratory, physical experiment center and statistical experiment center.
-070200 Physics-
As one of the key disciplines of Shanghai University's "2 1 1" construction, physics has made great progress in teaching staff, scientific research and personnel training through the construction of Shanghai's key construction disciplines "information physics", "radio physics" and "Shanghai's physical plateau discipline", and it is one of the earliest disciplines in Shanghai University to be included in ESI.
The discipline has a high-level scientific research team, including 33 professors, 39 doctoral supervisors (including part-time doctoral supervisors) and 37 associate professors. Including China Academy of Sciences 1 person, Canadian Academy of Engineering 1 person, Australian Academy of Sciences 1 person, Changjiang Scholars 1 person, young Changjiang Scholars 1 person, young people from the Central Organization Department 1 person, 4,000 people from Shanghai, former Chinese Academy of Sciences. Facing the international academic frontier of physics and focusing on the national development strategy and the important demand of Shanghai's industrial economy, the physics discipline of Shanghai University has formed and developed the following characteristic research directions: superconductivity and strong correlation physics, low-dimensional and computational physics, quantum and information physics, gravitation and high-energy physics, new energy physics and devices, and nano-structure physics. The main research bases include Shanghai Key Laboratory of High-temperature Superconductors, Shanghai Frontier Scientific Research Base of Quantum and Superconductors (to be built), Shanghai University International Center for Quantum and Molecular Structure, Shanghai University-Solon Joint Laboratory for Photovoltaic Materials and Devices, Shanghai University Institute of Low-dimensional Carbon Materials, Shanghai University Institute of Nanoenergy, Shanghai University Institute of Theoretical Physics, Shanghai University Ultrafast Photonics Laboratory, Shanghai University International Research Center for Quantitative Life Sciences and Quantum Artificial Intelligence Technology Research Center. Physics has undertaken more than 30 national natural science foundation projects and key projects in recent five years; More than 30 major and key projects of doctoral programs in institutions of higher learning of the Ministry of Education and basic research in Shanghai. Average annual domestic and international first-class academic journals (such as Nature, Science, Nature sub journal, PNAS, phys.rev.lett, phys.rev.a, b, c, d, e, applied, phys.rev.res/material, appl.phys.lett, opt.lett, JH). The discipline maintains close academic exchanges with universities and research institutions in the United States, Japan, Finland, Germany, Britain, Denmark, Australia and Spain.
Over the past five years, physics majors have trained more than 70 doctoral students and more than 300 master students. Postgraduate training won the Excellent Teaching Achievement Award of Shanghai Education Commission. The graduates trained in this discipline are concentrated in universities, research institutes and large enterprises at home and abroad, and many of them have become the backbone of disciplines and enterprises.
