Education Paper: How to Be a Good Class Teacher
Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a message asking the head teacher to invest a lot of time in the work of the head teacher, which shows the importance of the work of the head teacher. How well the class teacher works will directly affect the healthy growth of students. Class management is not only a part of school work, but also an important link. The head teacher is the organizer, leader and educator of a class, and is the direct communicator among students' families, teachers and society. Whether a class can form a good class collective depends on the working ability and level of the head teacher first. How to be a good class teacher? Educators, especially teachers in the front line of education, are trying to explore and study, because the object of education is students, educating people and shaping people's souls, which is qualitatively and quantitatively different from the management of other industries. I have been exploring and accumulating experience in education since the first day I entered the teacher's threshold. In my opinion, to be a good class teacher, we should do a good job in the following aspects: first, the class teacher should set an example and influence students with examples. As the saying goes, the power of example is infinite, especially the words and manners of the class teacher. Even the slightest move will leave a permanent memory for students. They think the teacher's words and deeds are right. If the class teacher's work is not in place, it will directly mislead students to develop bad habits. Be a teacher, be a teacher. Teachers themselves are living teaching materials. In the eyes of students, teachers are the embodiment of parents, the norm of society, the model of mankind and the transmitter of civilization. Pupils, in particular, have strong imitation ability, but their judgment ability is still relatively low. They will regard the teacher's words and deeds as norms and guidelines, and they will think that what the teacher says and does is correct. A boy in the first grade of primary school has long hair, which has covered half his ears. His parents urged him to get a haircut. He said: Our head teacher often has long hair, which I think is very handsome. I have long hair like him. There is a second-grade pupil spitting in the stairwell. The classmate found out and reported it to the teacher. The class teacher talked to him. Unexpectedly, the pupil said, I usually find the teacher spitting like this, and he still spits in the classroom. A third-grade pupil found that the classroom window was not closed after school (the students on duty were not closed). He closed the window on his own initiative. Some students think that he is not a student on duty and say that he is meddling. He said that it is the same when he meets the class teacher. Last year, I served as the head teacher of grade two. At first, the hygiene in the class was very poor, and there were often litters and peels. The class meeting stressed many times and even put forward the slogan: littering is shameful and picking up garbage is glorious. Call on everyone to purify our class. But the effect is not obvious, I really don't like it. I occasionally pick up the rubbish thrown in the corridor and classroom during recess. I didn't expect this little trick to have a great effect. When I didn't mobilize students to pick up garbage, some students took the initiative to pick up garbage. It can be seen that the role model of the class teacher is so important. Example has a subtle effect. Confucius, a great educator in ancient times, said: if you are upright, you will walk without orders, but if you are not upright, you will not follow. I deeply realize that the virtue of a class teacher is very important, and teaching by example is better than teaching by words. A class teacher must first know how to be a man (a model of good people), and what students are required to do must be done by the class teacher first. Second, strengthen the training of class cadres. Class cadres are the right-hand man of the class teacher, and the management of a class cannot be separated from the quality and ability of class cadres. How to give full play to the role of class cadres is a key to the work of class teachers. First of all, carefully select and train class cadres. Before the election, the class teacher should pay attention to the students, really understand the students in the class, elect the class cadres through democracy, and then arrange the division of labor according to the individual's specialties and wishes. Hold regular meetings of class cadres, affirm the work of class committees, point out the shortcomings and the direction of efforts, and ask class cadres to influence students with good examples and establish their position and prestige among students. Secondly, it is necessary to cultivate the working ability of class cadres. Some class cadres are timid, heavily dependent on their thoughts, afraid of hardship and fatigue, and even afraid of offending their classmates. This phenomenon is particularly prominent in the upper grades of primary schools. To this end, at the class committee meeting, teachers and students exchanged ideas, had heart-to-heart talks, discussed democratically, and raised the difficulties encountered in the management process. Teachers and students discuss with each other how to manage the class well, and at the same time ask the class cadres to be strict with themselves. I was the head teacher of Class 6 (3) last year, and their students just transferred from other villages. At first, I was unfamiliar with the school, and the quality of the students was uneven. At first, the class discipline was lax, which brought great difficulty to class management. When I was training cadres, I pointed out two major functions and significance to them. First, it is good for the whole class to manage the class well and create a comfortable and harmonious reading environment. Second, it is rare to cultivate management ability from an early age, which will be of great help to personal growth. The class cadres made clear their responsibilities and roles, mobilized their enthusiasm, improved their working ability day by day, and became the right-hand man of the class teacher. Since then, the class discipline has changed a lot, and they also won the first prize in the class quantitative management appraisal at the end of last semester, which is inseparable from the efforts of class cadres. Third, care for students and the growth of underachievers. Without love, there is no education. Love is the sunshine needed for the development of wisdom and human growth. Love is a catalyst, which can affect people's soul. As a class teacher, we should care for every student and treat the underachievers with a balanced heart. The so-called underachievers are relative to the top students. The head teacher should treat them with a developmental perspective. Underachievers are mostly discriminated by their parents, teachers and partners, and they are used to cynicism, unable to get appreciation and care, thus losing self-confidence. As class teachers, we should spend a lot of time educating them and communicating with their hearts, especially the left-behind children with psychological problems. We should find out the reasons for backwardness, talk to them patiently, subdue them with their parents' emotions, call back their self-confidence and let them have the courage to live in the same class group. Soviet educator Suhomlinski said: The whole mystery of educational skills lies in how to care for children. To transform underachievers, my methods are: (1) Give every underachiever a smile, because smiling can give students a good mood, create a harmonious, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and at the same time, smiling can ignite their thinking and spirituality. Whether in class or after class, I try to give students a smile with a cheerful face. As the saying goes, you are old when you smile, and you are old when you don't smile. As a teacher, why not smile at life? The education work is full of smiles, which has solved all kinds of misunderstandings, and has a better mentality and less anger and resentment. So as to lead them out of the cold and loneliness and into the sunshine and rain. (2) Respect the personality of underachievers and care about their self-esteem. Trees are afraid of peeling, and people are afraid of hurting their self-esteem. Only when their personality is protected and respected can they arouse their enthusiasm and exert their potential, and their body and mind can grow healthily. (3) Create caring class groups, encourage outstanding students to help underachievers, form one-on-one help, eliminate the prejudice of mutual discrimination and ridicule among students, and let underachievers feel the care of teachers and classmates and the warmth of the class. (4) Less criticism and more praise. When criticizing, explore the new, not catch up with the old. Be good at discovering the bright spots of underachievers, even if it is a little progress, we should praise and encourage them in time. A single spark will ignite the light of hope, encourage them to go forward, realize that they are not worse than others, and create a platform for underachievers to show their opportunities, so that they can enjoy their performance, enjoy the happiness and joy of success, and constantly improve themselves and surpass themselves in success. Fourth, the democratic management of the class allows every student to have the right to manage. The new educational concept and new curriculum reform have been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, with students as the main body, all for students and all for students. The focus of teaching is to transform teachers' teaching into students' learning. Similarly, class management should also be given to students, and students' wishes should be respected, such as setting class goals and rules. Students' opinions should be solicited according to the class situation, and practical goals and rules should be formulated after democratic discussion. Because it is democratic, its binding force has also increased. Safety education is a persistent task for class teachers. Primary school students have low awareness of safety precautions. I'll let the students find out which practices are unsafe in life and study, and then list them and publish them. At the same time, I use the weekly meeting to let students review their activities in the past week, and check whether they have done unsafe behaviors every week in order to wake up the alarm and raise students' awareness of safety prevention. In nearly 20 years of class education, I have served as a management class. In short, the work of the class teacher is hard and meticulous. Treating students equally requires love, sincerity, care, carefulness, patience and perseverance. We should teach students in accordance with their aptitude. Only in this way can we cultivate a group of healthy successors. Let us educators join hands to explore in practice, be a class teacher who satisfies parents, students and society, and live up to the great trust of the motherland and people.
