Longnan Primary School is a public primary school with nine-year compulsory education and five-year education under Xuhui District Education Bureau. Founded in 1922, formerly known as "Dongxin Primary School". 1942 closed (due to the expansion of Longhua Airport by Japanese invaders). 1945, Mr. Lei and other local people raised funds, borrowed four houses, and started school after maintenance.

Pan Cangshui, an underground party member, was appointed as the first principal. Later, the Education Bureau allocated funds to build two more school buildings. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Longhua District Education Bureau, 1954 to Xijiao Education Bureau, 1958 to Shanghai County Education Bureau and 1984 to Xuhui District Education Bureau. It has a history of 90 years.

After years of development, the school building has been continuously expanded and renovated, covering an area of 5,806 square meters and a construction area of 3,982 square meters. The school has 15 classes with nearly 500 students. Each classroom has its own multimedia teaching equipment. This library has more than 20,000 books.
