I'm writing my graduation thesis, and the teacher asked the footnote to be below the page number. How can I do that? Please give me some advice.
Enter footnotes and endnotes as follows:

(1) Move the cursor to the right of the text where you want to insert footnotes and endnotes.

(2) Click Insert → Reference → Footnotes and Endnotes to open the Footnotes and Endnotes dialog box, as shown.

(3) Select the footnote in the location area where the footnote is inserted, and select the location where the footnote is inserted in the drop-down list box on the right side of the footnote. The options you can choose are at the bottom of the page and below the text. Select the "bottom of page" item to print footnotes on the bottom border of the page displayed by the comment reference mark. Select Under Text to print footnotes under the last line of text on the page, not at the bottom of the page.

(4) If you want to insert endnotes, please select endnotes option. Then select the "End of Document" item in the drop-down list box to the right of "Endnotes" to print all endnotes at the end of the document. Or the "End of Section" item can print endnotes on the last line of the section containing endnotes.

(5) The format option group has the following options:

Numbering format: You can choose the numbering format for automatic numbering of footnotes.

Custom Label: Insert a custom annotation reference label. You can type the annotation reference marker symbol (maximum 10 characters) in the Custom Marker box. If there is no such symbol on the keyboard, you can also click the Symbol button, and then select the appropriate symbol from the Symbol dialog box as a footnote or endnote to insert the character used as the reference mark of the custom annotation.

Starting Number: You can enter a starting number or character for the first autonumbered footnote. Generally, the values that can be entered are integers between 1 and the specified maximum number. If the input is wrong, a prompt box for the input error will appear.

"Numbering Method": Automatically number each chapter, consecutive chapters of a page or spread, and footnotes on the section break.

If you use automatic numbering, Word will number all footnotes or endnotes consecutively, and renumber the reference marks when adding, deleting or moving footnotes or endnotes. Whether to use a single numbering scheme throughout the document or different numbering schemes in different parts of the document. After inserting the first footnote or endnote in a document or section, subsequent footnotes and endnotes are automatically numbered in the correct format.

(6) Click the "Insert" button to start inputting footnotes or endnotes. Depending on the document view, the way to enter footnote or endnote text will be different.

If in normal view, the footnote or endnote column will appear at the bottom of the document window. If you are in page view, the cursor will be on the footnote or endnote of the actual document. At this time, you can perform general text operations in the footnotes and endnotes, and even make pictures and tables. And don't worry that footnotes and endnotes will take up the length of the document, Word will automatically adjust the appropriate length.

Tip: Press the shortcut key "Alt+Ctrl+F" to quickly insert numbered footnotes. If the user doesn't know much about footnotes and endnotes, press the shortcut key "Alt+Ctrl+F", and the footnote editing area will appear. Even if you want to delete it, you can't delete it. It is considered that a macro virus is at work.
