What are the types and basic principles of stepping motors?
Stepping motor is an executive mechanism that converts electric pulse into angular displacement.

When the stepping driver receives a pulse signal, it drives the stepping motor to rotate by a fixed angle (that is, the stepping angle) in the set direction.

According to the operation principle, stepping motors can be divided into three types: reactive, permanent magnet and hybrid.

Reactive stepping motor: also known as reluctance stepping motor, the stator has windings and the rotor is made of soft magnetic material.

The stator and rotor cores are salient poles, and a small amount of control current provides the required magnetic field to the rotor through the excitation winding.

Permanent magnet stepping motor: also known as permanent magnet synchronous motor, the stator has windings and the rotor is permanent magnet.

When the stator excitation winding is excited by pulse current, the rotor will rotate with the excitation winding according to the number of magnetic poles of the winding.

Hybrid stepping motor: also known as permanent magnet induction stepping motor, stator and rotor have windings, and the iron cores of stator and rotor are salient poles.

It is characterized by large output torque, wide working frequency range and high precision like a permanent magnet motor.
