We China people have backbone.

Mencius in the Warring States period had a few very good words: "Wealth cannot be lewd, poverty cannot be moved, and powerful people cannot be bent. This is called a gentleman. " It means that high officials and rich people can't be bought, poverty and hardship can't be tortured, and violent force can't be threatened. This is the so-called gentleman. These actions of a gentleman show heroism, which we call backbone today.

Our country has experienced a long period of slave society and feudal society, and there are many such people with backbone in each era. We are descendants of these people with backbone, and we are a nation with a fine revolutionary tradition.

Of course, different societies, different classes and backbones have different specific meanings. This must be made clear. But as far as the principle of unswervingly serving the cause of progress at that time is concerned, many touching stories of our ancestors with backbone and their positive educational significance are worth learning.

At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the capital Lin 'an was invaded by the Yuan Army. Prime Minister Wen Tianxiang organized the armed forces to be loyal to the opposition. After being captured, the Yuan Dynasty advised him to surrender. He wrote a poem, two of which are: "No one has died since ancient times, only his heart shines." It means that people always die, depending on how they die, whether they die in humiliation or for the benefit of the country. He chose the latter and recorded this loyalty in history. Wen Tianxiang was imprisoned and tortured in a damp dungeon in Beijing. Yuan sent people to persuade him many times that he could become a high official as long as he surrendered, but he resolutely refused and was finally killed in A.D. 1282.

Mencius said a few words in Wen Tianxiang. His famous "Song of Benevolence and Righteousness" praised the heroic spirit of the ancient people, used their lives to resist oppression and called on the people to continue to resist.

Another story is that in ancient times there was a poor man who was starving to death. Someone threw him a bowl of rice and said, "Come and eat!" " "(hey, come and eat! The hungry man refused the charity of "ooh", refused to eat this bowl of rice, and then starved to death. The story of not eating the food you eat is very famous. It has been a legend for thousands of years, and it also has positive significance. The man put on a philanthropist's face and shouted, "Hey, come and have dinner! "It tastes unpleasant. What's the second step after eating this bowl of rice? Obviously, he won't give alms in vain, and he has to help him with his food. That poor man has a backbone: judging from your face and manner, he would rather starve to death than eat your food.

Not eating the food of the past shows the character of China people.

This is another example. Wen Yiduo, a democracy fighter, was shot dead by the Kuomintang on July 1946. Before that, his friend got the news that he was going to assassinate him and advised him to hide for the time being. He doesn't care, he works as usual and works harder. Knowing that the enemy was going to kill him, he shouted a few minutes before he was killed, denouncing the Kuomintang spies and pointing out that their days would not last long and people's democracy would surely win. In Farewell to Si Tuleideng, Chairman Mao pointed out: "Many people who used to be liberals or democratic individualists stood up before American imperialism and its lackeys, the Kuomintang reactionaries. Wen Yiduo was furious with the Kuomintang pistol and would rather surrender than give in. " Highly praised him for showing the heroism of our nation.

Although Mencius said these words more than 2000 years ago, they still have positive significance until now. Of course, we proletarians have our own heroism and backbone, that is, we will never bow to any difficulties, be flat, bend, bear or be intimidated. For the victory of socialism and socialist construction, we will be able to overcome any difficulties and forge ahead bravely!

Say "diligence"

There is a saying in China that "nothing is difficult in the world". Han Yu, a great writer in the Tang Dynasty, once said; "Hard work is good." In other words, profound academic attainments come from hard work.

Diligence is a virtue for those who are eager to learn and make progress. By diligence, we mean that people should cherish time, study, think, explore, practice and sum up. Throughout ancient and modern times, Chinese and foreign countries, people who have achieved something have written a shining Chinese character-"diligence" with hard sweat on every page of their history.

The result of diligence. Marx wrote Das Kapital and worked hard for forty years. He read a surprising number of books and publications, including 1500 and took notes. Sima Qian, the author of Historical Records, has been roaming all over the Yellow River and the Yangtze River since he was twenty years old, and collected a large number of social historical materials, which laid the foundation for the creation of Historical Records. Diligence makes wisdom. Legend has it that there was an orator named Demosthenes in ancient Greece. Because he stuttered when he was a child, his voice was cloudy and his pronunciation was inaccurate when he spoke on stage, and he was often overwhelmed by his eloquent opponents. However, he was not discouraged and discouraged. In order to overcome this weakness and defeat his eloquent opponent, he recited to the sea every day, regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter, rain, snow and frost, for 50 years, and even made a speech while climbing mountains and running, and finally became the most famous speaker in Greece. China Song Dynasty scholar Zhu also told such a story. There is a man named Chen in Fuzhou. He has to read a short article once or twice to get familiar with it. However, he is neither lazy nor lazy. He studies hard and practices hard. Others read it once, but he studied it three or four times. Over time, he became more and more afraid of learning and finally became a learned man. This shows that even some people with low talent and slow response can turn clumsy into smart as long as they have the spirit of being diligent and eager to learn.

Practice has proved that diligence is the torch to light wisdom. The key to a person's knowledge lies in the degree of diligence. Lazy people will never achieve anything in their careers and will never make themselves smart. Only diligent people can hunt for real wisdom and talents in the sea of knowledge, and can constantly explore the field of knowledge, get the reward of knowledge, and make themselves smart. Gorky said: "Genius comes from diligence". Carlisle also said: "Genius is the infinite ability to work hard". In other words, as long as you are not lazy and diligent, you will definitely make great achievements in your career through hard work. In memory of Norman Bethune

Comrade Bethune (1) was born in party member and was in his fifties. I went to Yan 'an last spring and later came to work in Wutai Mountain. Unfortunately, I died in the line of duty. Leninism holds that the proletariat in capitalist countries should support the liberation struggle of colonial and semi-colonial people, and the proletariat in colonial and semi-colonial countries should support the liberation struggle of the proletariat in capitalist countries, so that the world revolution can win. Comrade Bethune carried out this Leninist line. We created party member in China to practice this line. We must unite the proletariat of all capitalist countries, unite the proletariat of Japan, Britain, the United States, Germany, Italy and all capitalist countries, overthrow imperialism, liberate our nation and people, and liberate the nation and people of the world. This is our internationalism, and this is the internationalism we use to oppose narrow nationalism and narrow patriotism.

Comrade Bethune's selfless dedication is manifested in his extreme responsibility for his work and his extreme enthusiasm for comrades and the people. Every party member should learn from him. Many people are irresponsible for their work, choose the light and fear the heavy, pass the burden on to others, and choose the light. At present, consider yourself first, then others. I feel great if I work hard a little, and I like to brag, for fear that others will not know. He is not enthusiastic about comrades and the people, but indifferent, indifferent and insensitive. This kind of person is not actually party member in * * *, at least not party member in pure * * *. No one who came back from the front spoke of Bethune without admiration and without being moved by his spirit. The soldiers and civilians in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei border region were moved by Dr. Bethune's treatment and his work. Every producer in party member should learn from Comrade Bethune's true spirit of capitalism.

Comrade Bethune is a doctor. He takes medical treatment as his profession and strives for perfection in technology. In the whole Eighth Route Army medical system, his medical skills are very clever. This is also an excellent lesson for a group of people whose minds have changed, who despise technical work and think there is no way out.

I only met Comrade Bethune once. Later, he wrote me many letters. But because I was busy, I only answered his letter. I wonder if he received it. I am very sad about his death. Now everyone commemorates him, which shows that his spirit is touching. We should all learn from his selfless spirit. From this perspective, you can be a person who is of great benefit to the people. A person's ability varies greatly, but as long as he has this spirit, he is a noble person, a pure person, a moral person, and a person who is free from low tastes and beneficial to the people.
