Abstract: With the rapid development of social economy, the pace of education in China is also accelerating. In this context, the concept of new curriculum reform came into being. Starting from the present situation of English classroom teaching in senior high schools, this paper first puts forward the basic direction of English teaching reform in senior high schools under the background of new curriculum reform, then analyzes the main problems existing in it, and finally puts forward some relevant countermeasures to solve the problems. In order to find a reliable way to improve the quality of English classroom teaching in senior high schools, so as to provide some theoretical basis for relevant people.

1 The basic direction of English teaching reform in senior high schools under the background of new curriculum reform.
First of all, the English teaching reform in senior high schools must adapt to the new curriculum standards, and all the reform work should be carried out around the requirements of the new curriculum standards. If it deviates from the requirements of the new curriculum standards, the English reform in senior high school will lose its practical significance and may probably lead to the failure of the English reform in senior high school. This situation has happened in many senior high schools, which should attract the attention of senior high school English teachers, and we must thoroughly understand the requirements of the new curriculum standards before the reform. Secondly, innovation is the top priority of English reform in senior high schools. In the process of implementing the new curriculum standards, senior high school English teachers must put innovation in the first place, break some traditions and dross before, and keep the development of senior high school English teaching and modern English teaching at the same level. Finally, we should realize the diversified development of English teaching in senior high schools. Practice has proved that it is difficult to cultivate real English talents in English teaching for the purpose of preparing for the college entrance examination, which limits the development of many students' English. Therefore, English teaching in senior high schools needs to break through conventional obstacles, enrich teaching contents and methods, and improve students' comprehensive learning ability.
2 realistic problems exposed in senior high school English teaching under the background of new curriculum reform
2. 1 Lack of emotional stimulation, less interaction in teaching.
Under the background of the new curriculum reform, many high schools will more or less expose some problems in English teaching, and many problems have certain particularity. The author only analyzes a few common practical problems here. One of the most common problems is that English teachers in senior high schools lack emotional motivation for students in the process of classroom teaching. Through the analysis of senior high school English textbooks, we can know that the content of senior high school English textbooks has certain knowledge and story, and each unit has an independent theme and clear ideological connotation. The design of teaching materials is mainly to increase the interest and readability of teaching materials, so that students can better enter the learning situation and gain knowledge, thoughts and emotions during the learning process. But at this stage, many senior high school English teachers ignore this point. In the process of education and teaching, they mainly focus on rational teaching, grammar and words. For example, in the process of learning "Unit Friendship", most teachers did not give emotional guidance to students, but simply explained the key words and analyzed the conversation content in class. This not only wastes English teaching resources, but also reduces students' interest in learning English, and some students even have a certain degree of weariness.
2.2 narrow teaching content, lack of flexible application
At present, in order to meet the needs of the new curriculum standards, senior high school English textbooks have been completely revised, and the new textbooks have been basically popularized in senior high schools in China. This is of positive significance to improve the English teaching level of senior high schools in China and improve students' English application ability. However, through actual investigation, observation and work summary, it is found that some senior high school English teachers have great problems in the application of new textbooks. First of all, some senior high school English teachers are too rigid in the application of textbooks, focusing on exam-related content, and many contents that can improve students' oral communication ability and language expression ability are deliberately ignored; Secondly, some senior high school English teachers regard textbook arrangement as the golden rule, and all teaching contents are mainly based on textbook content, which leads to relatively narrow teaching contents and cannot expand students' knowledge level. For example, the teaching content of some units is obviously insufficient in the textbook, which can't make students have a deep understanding of the textbook content.
This requires teachers to use network resources and multimedia equipment to play some video materials related to the theme in class to supplement the teaching content. However, in the actual teaching process, few senior high school English teachers can do this; Finally, the flexibility of English teaching in senior high schools is insufficient. Many teachers will compile teaching plans in combination with the content of teaching materials before giving lectures. The main purpose of this work is to better complete classroom teaching. However, it is worth noting that many senior high school English teachers often take lesson plans as the only reference and always follow the steps. They are often at a loss when facing some unexpected events and some contents that are not involved in the teaching plan, so they can't use the teaching plan flexibly and carry out classroom teaching flexibly. For example, I once witnessed a teacher leading students to learn unit healthyeating, and the students suddenly asked the teacher what kind of food to eat to lose weight. This was unexpected when the teacher compiled the lesson plan, so in order to carry out the teaching smoothly, the teacher criticized the students and thought that the students should not ask something unrelated to their studies. Later, in the whole teaching process, the author observed that the students' mood has been relatively low, and the enthusiasm of the whole class to participate in the discussion seems to have been affected.
3 English teaching reform in senior high school under the background of new curriculum reform
3. 1 Change the teaching mode and increase emotional care.
At present, the English teaching mode in senior high school has great disadvantages, including traces of the conflict between the old and new English teaching modes, including modern teaching methods and teaching means, and the remnants of traditional teaching ideas, which has always restricted the reform of English teaching in senior high school. Therefore, the majority of English teachers in senior high schools need to reorganize and construct the English teaching mode in senior high schools, carry out open English teaching reform, actively absorb some advanced experience and avoid going into the misunderstanding of teaching reform.
For example, in the process of implementing student-based teaching, we should not only improve students' status, but also clarify our own tasks and responsibilities, so as not to overemphasize students' dominant position and ignore teachers' guidance and counseling role in the teaching process; Secondly, pay more attention to students' emotions, actively mobilize students' emotions, and then create a good teaching situation, so that students can have a deep impression on what they have learned, and at the same time, emotional stimulation can also make students form positive thoughts and healthy psychology. Or take the unit friendship mentioned above as an example. In the teaching process of this unit, teachers can organize students to talk about their good friends in English and tell touching stories between themselves and their good friends. Through this emotional mobilization, students' attention has been well concentrated, and it has laid a good foundation for future teaching activities. In addition, the author also found that this kind of classroom discussion is also very helpful to improve students' oral expression ability.
3.2 Improve the teaching evaluation and fully implement it.
At present, teaching evaluation in many high schools is superficial, and even some high schools don't carry out teaching evaluation among students at all. This makes the teaching work of English teachers in senior high schools arbitrary, and many problems in the process of education and teaching cannot be found. Therefore, the author believes that to effectively reform English teaching in senior high schools, we should not only solve the practical problems in the process of English teaching in senior high schools, but also work hard at the institutional level and strengthen the implementation of teaching evaluation. This work has been well implemented in many colleges and universities, and high schools can also learn from it. First, we should regularly organize students to evaluate teachers' teaching situation and respect students' opinions; Second, we should supervise teachers' teaching work and reduce the possibility of teaching problems; Finally, organize mutual evaluation and self-evaluation among teachers, so that teachers can understand their work from multiple angles. To sum up, under the background of the new curriculum reform, English teaching in senior high schools needs new development, and the majority of English teachers in senior high schools need to reasonably control the college entrance examination and the cultivation of students' quality, balance the relationship between them, curb utilitarianism in English teaching in senior high schools, promote English teaching in senior high schools to enter a new stage of development, and lay a solid foundation for students' future growth and study.
