Mainly engaged in scientific research, teaching, engineering design and CAD software development of long-span spatial structures. He is a member of the National Academic Committee of Spatial Structure, a member of the Expert Committee of China Steel Structure Association, a senior visiting scholar of Oxford University in Britain and Harvard University in the United States, and an outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education in the new century, enjoying special subsidies from the state government. He has undertaken more than 10 key projects of the national natural science foundation, general projects, national key science and technology projects, provincial key science and technology projects, doctoral programs fund of the Ministry of Education, and published 130 academic papers. He applied for 6 patents and published 4 books. More than 400 spatial structure engineering design and research projects have been completed, including the terminal building of Shenzhen International Airport, the factory building of Shanghai Volkswagen Co., Ltd., Guangdong People's Stadium, Xi 'an Chengyun Village Gymnasium, etc. The cylindrical reticulated shell structure with the largest span in China is designed, and a new construction technology of computer synchronous control for integral lifting of large reticulated shell structure is proposed and applied.
