Decide on the outline of your thesis first. The figure below is the outline of my undergraduate thesis (omitting key information).
Select the Style column of the Start tab and click the Modify option of the title 1 You can adjust fonts and paragraphs in the "Format" in the lower left corner of the pop-up dialog box, and click OK after modification.
Select all the first-level titles in your paper, and then click "Title 1" (we just set the title 1 in the style bar of the start tab) to complete the setting of the first-level titles. In the same way, complete the setting of secondary and tertiary titles. The following are the effects of all the titles set in the first chapter. Don't worry about the little black dots next to the title, they are all powerful papers! Print will not be displayed. Small black dots indicate that the title can be folded. )
The outline is set like this. Just select what you need in the table of contents in the reference tab, and it will be generated automatically. You can insert a page break after the table of contents to separate the table of contents from the outline or the body of a formal paper.
