Doctoral Supervisor-Yang Xindong
Yang Xindong, male, born in 1945, Han nationality. Professor of Plant Pathology of Jilin Agricultural University, doctoral supervisor, honorary chairman of Jilin Plant Protection Society. 1968 graduated from Jilin agricultural university, majoring in plant protection, and 1982 obtained the master of science degree from China academy of sciences. Teaching plant pathology from 1982. Courses such as plant etiology, general plant pathology, plant disease research methods, plant disease diagnosis, plant disease epidemiology, physiology and molecular plant pathology have been offered for undergraduates and postgraduates. Textbooks such as Epidemiology of Plant Diseases, Common Techniques of Plant Diseases Research and Diagnosis of Common Diseases of Main Crops in Jilin Province have been compiled.
The main research direction is plant disease epidemiology. Aiming at the rice blast which is seriously harmful in production; Corn leaf spot, gray spot and Curvularia leaf spot; Tobacco wildfire and red star disease; Cucumber downy mildew and other diseases, carried out quantitative research on the epidemic links of diseases. In this study, the quantitative influence of air relative humidity on spore production of leaf lesions, the calculation of floating spores carried by rainfall in the air, and the quantitative dynamics of pathogenic bacteria in rain and dew were solved. The concept of "meteorological induced disease index" was put forward for the first time in China, and the table model of meteorological induced disease index of rice blast, tobacco brown spot and tobacco wildfire was established (the simulation model of computer operation was replaced by look-up table method). It was found for the first time that the aging spots of Curvularia lunata still maintained the unique law of vigorous sporulation. Scientific and practical chemical control indexes of rice leaf blight, ear blast, tobacco brown spot and wildfire were put forward, and they were widely popularized in rice and tobacco producing areas of Jilin Province.
In the field of disease influencing factors monitoring and disease control effect analysis, DLY-2 gravity dew condensation instrument was developed and obtained the national practical patent. A regression equation for calculating dew time by using conventional observation factors of ground stations is proposed. Yang Xindong's formula for calculating the control effect of multi-cycle disease epidemic situation is put forward, which solves the universality problem of the formula. The identification and evaluation of resistance to rice blast and soybean mosaic were also studied.
He has published more than 70 research papers on plant diseases and won three provincial (ministerial) scientific and technological progress awards, among which the research on rice blast prediction technology in Jilin Province won the second prize (the first prize) for scientific and technological progress in Jilin Province. 1997 was approved by the people's government of Jilin Province as the fourth batch of young and middle-aged professional and technical talents with outstanding contributions in Jilin Province.
