For a long time, the center has been shouldering the task of clinical blood supply for all kinds of medical units at all levels within 7446 square kilometers of Zhengzhou and five cities and one county under its jurisdiction, with an annual blood supply of about 40 tons. At the same time, the center is also responsible for the business guidance, technical consultation and personnel training of blood transfusion departments (blood banks) and county (city) blood banks of medical institutions under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou, actively solving difficult problems in blood transfusion for medical blood institutions, undertaking business training and management guidance, providing blood technical support and controlling and evaluating the quality of blood collection and supply.

Since its establishment, the center has always adhered to the purpose of serving people's health wholeheartedly, and has long been committed to the cause of voluntary blood donation for citizens. Especially after the implementation of June 5438+0998+1 October1People's Republic of China (PRC) Blood Donation Law and the Measures for the Implementation of the Blood Donation Law in Henan Province, with the care and support of all sectors of society, Zhengzhou has formed a good atmosphere of "blood donation without compensation and no honor" through extensive publicity and careful organization. Up to now, since 200 1, Zhengzhou's blood for clinical use 100% has come from unplanned blood donation, and the safety rate of blood for clinical use has reached 100% according to national standards. Zhengzhou was awarded the title of "National Advanced City for Free Blood Donation" for four consecutive times. Henan Province won the unique honor of "National Advanced Province of Free Blood Donation" twice in a row.

Over the years, the center has been following the principle of "safety, standardization, service and innovation", constantly improving the quality of blood and the level of blood transfusion service, and has been at the forefront of peers in quality management, blood transfusion research, application of blood components and clinical rational use of blood. 1 September, 1998, the blood collection and supply center realized the automatic management of computer network, and officially passed the ISO9000 international quality system certification registration in 200 1 month. The quality management was in line with international standards, so that every link from blood donor registration to blood distribution had strict system, clear responsibilities, detailed division of labor and perfect records, which ensured the quality and perfect records of blood for clinical use. The center has a 12 standardized laboratory, equipped with advanced instruments and equipment such as automatic blood safety screening system, and conducts research on nucleic acid detection (NAT). In recent years, the center has published more than 40 scientific papers every year and achieved 4 ~ 5 scientific research results. In 2004, the scientific research achievement "Application Research of Automatic Blood Screening Instrument in Blood Transfusion Test" won the second prize of Henan Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2006, eight new HLA alleles were successfully declared, which filled the gap at home and abroad and passed the naming approval of WHO. Successfully applied for 8 projects of training clinical discipline leaders and introducing high-tech in key medical disciplines in Henan Province, including provincial key medical laboratories 1 project and provincial key medical disciplines 1 project.
