1978- 1982 received a bachelor's degree in horticulture from Southwest Agricultural College (SWAC), and his graduation thesis: Identification and Screening of Dwarf Citrus Rootstocks.

1983- 1985 obtained the master's degree thesis of ENSAM (Ecole nationale supé rieure agronomique de Montpellier): Establishment of in vitro regeneration system of several wine grape varieties.

1986- 1989 was awarded by languedoc-Roussillon University of Science and Technology (USTL Montpellier II: languedoc-Roussillon University of Science and Technology). Doctoral thesis: Study on protoplast isolation and redifferentiation culture of European grapes.
