Attention! You should follow the citation standard directed by your school or tutor, usually the Harvard reference format.

In the text
The citation methods of foreign references are quite different from those of China. Chinese quotations like to copy the original words of others, but English is generally not. You should sum up other people's opinions yourself, or say what research others have done and what the conclusion is. In short, it is best not to copy the original words.
The author's name does not appear in the article. To quote a sentence or an author's point of view, add () at the end of the sentence, and mark the author's name and the year of publication in (). All references, whether from newspapers, books or papers, should be marked.
For example, refer to the appearance of published works as the characteristics of professional readers' writing (Cormac 1994).
The author's name appears in the text. If the author's name appears in the text, such as XXX said/summarized/suggested …, then add () after the name, and only the year can be marked in ().
For example, Jones (1946) and Smith (1948) both display n. ...
Other cases
If an author publishes two books in the same year. For example, in 2005, it should be marked as (author 2005a) or (author 2005b).
If you quote more than one newspaper article in an article, you should indicate the specific date of this newspaper article. Such as: (Guardian, 2005 10/8).
Don't ask
There should be a list of references at the end of the paper, which need not be marked as 1234 as in Chinese, as long as it is arranged in the order cited in the paper.
