1958, Beihang University established the "Teaching and Research Department of Computing Devices", which is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China to set up computer specialty. Computer software was established in 1975, and computer science and engineering department of Beihang University was formally established in 1978. In September 2002, the Computer College was established with the approval of the school.
At present, there are 3 academicians of China Academy of Sciences (2 academicians of China Academy of Sciences and 2 academicians of China Academy of Engineering 1 person), 55 professors, 53 associate professors, 3 Changjiang scholars, 4 professors of Thousand Talents Program, 4 talents of Ministry of Education/New Century1person, and 4 part-time tutors. It consists of computer science and technology department, computer application engineering department, information security department and software engineering department, and consists of ten research units, including State Key Laboratory of Software Development Environment, State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and System, Beijing Key Laboratory of New Computer Technology, Engineering Center of Ministry of Education of Advanced Computer Application Technology, Computer Teaching Experiment Center, Software Engineering Research Institute, Architecture Research Institute, Intelligent Information Processing Research Institute, Network and Digital Media Research Institute and Sino-German Joint Research Institute of Software Technology.
Since 2007, Computer College has won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress 1, three second prizes of national scientific and technological progress, two second prizes of national technological invention and four first prizes of provincial scientific and technological progress. Since 2009, it has won the second prize of national teaching achievement 1 and the second prize of provincial teaching achievement 1. Since 2009, the College has undertaken more than 340 scientific research projects, including 2 major projects of NSFC, 2 major research projects of 973, 4 major projects of NSFC 10, 4 major projects of NSFC 165438, and outstanding youth fund of NSFC 1. 20 1 1, and the amount of scientific research funds exceeds 200 million yuan.
