Seek a summary of religious beliefs in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is a country where most people believe in Buddhism, and many customs are related to Buddhism. Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka are highly respected. When Sri Lankan residents talk to Buddhist monks, whether standing or sitting, they should try to be slightly lower than the monks' heads, and they should not pass things to Buddhist monks and believers with their left hands.

When visiting a Buddhist temple, you should not trample, straddle or ride the Buddha statue. You should go barefoot when entering the temple. You shouldn't wear shoes and socks or a hat.

In addition to the religious rule of "no food after noon", Buddhists in Sri Lanka have other rules, such as not entering entertainment places, not riding bicycles, not running fast, not riding cars pulled by female animals, not wearing watches, not entering temples barefoot and so on. Most Sri Lankans believe in Buddhism. In daily life, people have great respect for monks. By bus, ordinary people get on the bus from the back door, and monks get on the bus from the front door. There are seats for monks in front.

They are afraid to pass things or food with their left hand, thinking it is a dirty and despicable hand. So it is extremely impolite to pass things to them with your left hand. Sri Lankan monks prohibit drinking; I don't like mushrooms either. Muslims in Sri Lanka are forbidden to eat pork and pig products.
