The spine is an inseparable part of the cover, so when designing the cover, we should imagine the spine as a plane. Of course, the back cover and binding should be the same, but when designing the back cover and binding, the design strength will be deliberately weakened to set off the main position of the cover and spine.
The design requirements of the spine:
Books and other publications with spine thickness greater than or equal to 5 mm should adopt spine design. The spine names of books and other publications and their covers shall be consistent with the names on their covers and title pages (except those with designs on the names of publishing houses), and there shall be no changes in words and wording.
The typesetting of spine names should be eye-catching, clear and neat, which is convenient for people to read and find quickly. If the publication is too thin, the thickness is less than 5 mm or other reasons, the name of the spine can be printed on the edge of the spine not more than 15 mm, and its content is the same as that of the spine, except for the name of the publisher.
