Development of Group NC Technology (I) Development of Group NC Technology

Group NC technology has been developed and applied for nearly 50 years since it was put forward in 1950s. As a comprehensive production technology science, group numerical control technology is the technical basis of computer aided design, computer aided process design, computer aided manufacturing and flexible manufacturing system. As early as the early 1960s, China popularized and applied group technology in textile machinery, aircraft, machine tools, construction machinery and other fields, and achieved initial results. JLBMI, a national classification and coding system for mechanical parts organized and developed by the former Design and Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery, will play a positive role in promoting the popularization and application of group numerical control technology in China. In recent years, the practical experience of some factories shows that the economic benefits of applying group technology are very significant. Combining teaching and scientific research, many industrial colleges in China have carried out a lot of research work on the basic theory and application of group numerical control technology, such as part classification and coding system, part classification and grouping method, computer-aided coding, classification, process design, part design, production management software system and so on, and achieved many results. It is believed that with the continuous development of application and scientific research, group numerical control technology will play an increasingly important role in improving the production management level of manufacturing technology in China's machinery industry. Development direction of CNC technology of the Group: (1) The national and local government's science and technology funding policies are undergoing major changes: more emphasis is placed on the support of public * * * finance for public * * * service platforms. It is an important means for enterprises to improve the design quality and efficiency by using the principle of group numerical control technology instead of traditional design methods to guide the design of enterprise products. Statistics show that when designing and developing a new product, more than 80% parts can learn from or directly quote the original product drawings, while for lathe product design, more parts can be reused and borrowed. Group NC technology requires that the parts of existing products should be used as much as possible in the design of new products to reduce the discreteness of parts' shapes, functional elements and sizes, and that the parts of various products should be as similar as possible and reused as much as possible, not only between the same series of products, but also between different series of products. For example, in the research and development of common bench lathe, the lathe bed, tool rest, tailstock, spindle box, feed box and slide box with different series and specifications are designed into different modules for designers to assemble according to customers' needs, and the parts used in different modules are as close or similar as possible. It can be said that the designer's task is not to create new parts, but to assemble new products with existing parts as much as possible. When designing products, designers should make full use of the design data in the library, search for existing parts, minimize the workload of new design, and innovate on the basis of reasonable inheritance. The application of group numerical control technology in product design can reduce the number of similar parts in products, eliminate duplicate design parts, reduce design modeling and drawing work, and use the classification and coding system of parts to retrieve parts with the same function and identify substitutes.
