What are the argumentation skills of argumentative writing?
Argumentative writing skills are generally divided into four types: example argumentation, metaphor argumentation, contrast argumentation and quotation argumentation.

1. Give an example

Illustration is the most commonly used argument method in argumentative writing. When students need to elaborate their own arguments, giving an example that can prove this argument can effectively support their own views. It should be noted that in the process of giving examples, examples must have three elements: "typical, novel and concise". If the argument is too trite, it will make the article unreadable; If it is too long, it will lead to the embarrassing situation that writing time and paper are not enough; If it is not typical enough, it will not achieve the effect of supporting the argument, which will lead to the weakening of the argumentative nature of the article.

2. Metaphorical argument

Metaphorical argument is an excellent but relatively difficult argument skill in argumentative writing. If used well, it can cause an effect of "pointing fingers at mulberry and cursing trees" and attract the attention of marking teachers. For example, object A refers to object B, and then through the analysis of the shortcomings of object A, object B can be demonstrated and analyzed ... In Lu Xun's "Takeism", there are wonderful fragments of metaphor demonstration.

3. Comparative demonstration

Contrastive argument is an argument skill that takes a long time to describe in argumentative writing. In the process of composition writing, it is generally necessary to explain two things or phenomena, A and B. These two things or phenomena are opposites. Through comparison, an effective argument can be drawn, which will ultimately support your argument. Sometimes, between A and B, there may be a progressive relationship, not an antagonistic relationship. For example, when we want to explain the view that "heroes make teenagers", we will cite children with certain achievements and adults with the same achievements, and demonstrate our point of view through the comparison of two cases.

Step 4 cite arguments

Quote famous people's arguments and quotations, or ancient poems, proverbs, aphorisms, etc. These famous sentences are philosophical and widely known, so they will prove their views strongly; At the same time, famous aphorisms are generally of high literariness. For some students with weak writing ability, using citation skills in composition can effectively improve the style and aesthetic feeling of the article and get higher scores.
