Analysis Report on Employment Situation of Statistics Graduates

With the development of social economy and the expansion of colleges and universities, the employment competition of college students is becoming increasingly fierce, and the employment of college students has become a social concern. Although the graduates of Statistics College of Chengdu University of Information Science and Technology have good employment foundation and conditions, they sometimes miss their jobs for various reasons. How to effectively formulate and implement the talent training plan according to the changes of society and market, how to take practical and effective measures to improve the quality of education and teaching, how to connect and explore various channels, and how to maximize students' practice and innovation ability are all problems that need to be solved.

The data shows that in 20 14, the number of college graduates nationwide reached 7.27 million, an increase of 280,000 over that in 20 13, reaching a record high. In 20 15, the number reached 7.49 million, a record high. I want to find a job with college students who were unemployed and ready to jump ship. Therefore, whether college graduates can find jobs smoothly has become a problem worthy of discussion.

The main employment channels for students majoring in statistics are related industries, enterprises and institutions in statistical system and financial system, with a wide range of employment fields and good employment quality. However, compared with Sichuan universities such as Cai Xi and Sichuan University, the School of Statistics still has obvious gaps. Therefore, it is particularly necessary to study the characteristics and shortcomings of our college's talent training methods and find out all aspects of students' employment.

Based on the questionnaire survey of students in 106 and employers in 150, and the first-hand information of employment registration, this paper sorts out and summarizes the employment situation of statistics majors.

1. Most students think that social practice or work experience is the biggest employment advantage, and 62 students interviewed rank social practice or work experience first, accounting for 58.5%.

2. In the survey of 150 employers, the social practice or work experience score is the highest, which is1270; Followed by good academic performance, the score is 1 155. Employers generally believe that students majoring in statistics should have social practice or work experience.

3. The order of employers' attention to the ability of statistics graduates is: "the ability to organize and carry out statistical surveys" is the most important, accounting for 39%; Followed by "data sorting and analysis ability of statistical investigation", accounting for 36%; The ability of statistical survey design ranks third, accounting for 25%.

4. The ranking of the quality of statisticians in 10 years has changed obviously, with the ability of statistical survey design rising to the first place and the ability of statistical survey organization and implementation falling to the third place.

5. Judging from the main courses offered by statistics major, the employer thinks that multivariate statistical analysis and SPSS implementation are the most needed courses, with a score as high as 814; Followed by the principles of economics and statistics, with scores of 538 and 504 respectively; The lowest score is socio-economic investigation and analysis, 459.

Because college students are mainly concentrated in major cities when they study, fresh graduates would rather be "ants" or "drifters" in major cities than go to grassroots units such as second-and third-tier cities, counties and towns for employment. Although small and medium-sized enterprises and private enterprises need a large number of fresh graduates, their wages and benefits are relatively low and their development space is relatively small. In addition, the employment of some enterprises does not meet the national policy, which has limited appeal to fresh graduates; Although grass-roots medical care, education, agriculture, forestry, science and technology departments are in urgent need of talents, their ability to attract fresh graduates is limited due to staffing restrictions and many other reasons. Specifically, employment is difficult for the following reasons:

(1) At present, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises in China is small, and the jobs provided cannot meet the employment needs of fresh graduates;

(2) The lack of specialization in personnel training leads to the unqualified quality of professionals and the lack of professionals in some positions;

(3) The range of recruitment information released by some enterprises is not wide enough, which limits the dissemination of recruitment information, and ultimately leads to difficulties in finding suitable employees and long-term vacancies;

(4) The growth rate of the number of college graduates is much higher than the economic growth rate of China. At the same time, due to the great differences between different regions and between urban and rural areas in China, although the government has repeatedly publicized and put forward policies to support volunteers in the western region and college students, college students are rarely willing to work in economically underdeveloped areas, especially in the western region. For a long time, the unbalanced employment interval of college students is still difficult to change.

Therefore, two suggestions are put forward:

1. Student: 1. If college students want to find jobs smoothly, they must change their ideas. In the future career, college students should not only focus on the traditional "concentrated" areas, industries and units, but should make personalized career choices according to their own personality and ability, broaden their horizons in job hunting and enjoy them as much as possible, so as to enter their career with a better attitude. Change "short-term job hunting" into "long-term job hunting". In the process of job hunting, fresh graduates should not be too idealistic. A person may have to make two, three or even more choices to find a job that suits him. So don't be too picky about your first job, and pay attention to your true feelings in job hunting. 2. In the process of employment, college students should cultivate and carry forward the optimistic and enterprising quality; Good team spirit; Dare to challenge and have the determination to overcome difficulties; Strong sense of responsibility; Normative behavior consciousness; Certain social practice experience. 3. College students should pay attention to the improvement of their self-cultivation and social practice activities before graduation. At the same time, we also need to develop a good attitude, so that we can win without arrogance and lose with grace in the process of employment, so as to realize our self-worth in the process of employment.

Second, the school:

1. Career planning education should be implemented and adjusted in time according to the actual situation. In our college's career planning, we should guide students to do a good job planning as early as possible and tell them the future employment trend and situation, but we can't set a frame, which will bind students and form a misleading way to prevent graduates from thinking only about banks and civil servants and ignoring other companies and units. In fact, the employment situation is complicated and changeable, and so is the direction of professional employment. Students should be helped to choose jobs more according to their own interests, abilities and even their own value orientation, instead of just deciding employment according to their previous employment experience and employment situation, they should constantly adjust their employment direction according to the external environment and their own positioning.

2. Specialized courses offered by schools should meet the needs of students' target occupations. According to the survey, although the employer has a high degree of recognition of the professional courses offered by our college, as far as students are concerned, the recognition of the professional courses is relatively low. As far as our college is concerned, I think that on the basis of the original professional elective courses, we can moderately reduce some professional elective courses, let students choose relatively professional elective courses according to their own target career planning, and at the same time let students attend classes according to their own interests, which can increase the enthusiasm of attending classes. At the same time, the school should contact some enterprises to realize school-enterprise cooperation, provide more internship opportunities for students, and let students have more opportunities for social practice, so as to broaden their horizons, enhance their social adaptability and have higher competitiveness in the employment process. In addition, our college should let teachers go to enterprises to observe and understand the skills that enterprises need for professionals, and set up our professional courses on this basis. At the same time, employment guidance is provided by establishing an internship base through school-enterprise cooperation and recommending internships by graduates. , so as to broaden students' internship channels and exercise excellent hands-on ability.

3. Schools should enhance students' employment adaptability. In addition to offering traditional career guidance courses, I think the college can also organize simulated job applications, encourage students to participate in simulated recruitment competitions, and improve students' comprehensive coping ability in interviews. This can not only increase students' interview experience and reaction ability, but also hone their courage and broaden their horizons. Nowadays, students are more and more fond of employment guidance methods characterized by two-way communication, such as previous graduates' good employment, job-hunting case analysis, special lectures by business leaders, interaction with students on the types of talents needed by enterprises, simulated recruitment, short-term employment internship, face-to-face consultation and other new employment guidance methods are all good choices. At the same time, our college should popularize and improve students' awareness of career planning. Practice has proved that career planning has played a substantial role in guiding and helping college students in the process of changing from passive employment to active job selection.

4. Schools should pay more attention to key students and provide timely counseling for students' employment psychology. We should allocate employment guidance teachers and psychological guidance teachers, establish a matching school-department-class psychological guidance system, and select teachers with good communication skills and professional skills and strong sense of responsibility as employment psychological guidance teachers in various colleges to ensure that students can be guided in time when they have psychological deviations in the employment process and lead them out of the haze.
