Through the implementation of key ecological projects and extensive afforestation activities, the national forest area has reached 2.6 billion mu, the forest coverage rate has increased to 18.2 1%, and the preserved area of artificial forests has reached 800 million mu, ranking first in the world. The National Greening Committee, the Ministry of Education, the State Forestry Administration, and the China Ecological Culture Association decided to jointly carry out the activities of "Promoting Ecological Civilization and Building a Green Campus" nationwide, in order to guide teachers and students to actively participate in the construction of ecological civilization, further do a good job in campus greening, strive to create a good teaching and educating environment, and accelerate the realization of the goal of greening the motherland. This is another large-scale green action after the Green Olympics and a vivid practice of building ecological civilization.

Laozi, an ancient philosophical thinker in China, put forward the ecological and cultural philosophy of "man and place, the earth follows the sky, the sky follows the Tao, and the Tao follows nature" more than 2,000 years ago. Donald worster, a famous historian of ecological thought in modern times, also warned people: "The global ecological crisis we are facing today is not caused by the ecosystem itself, but by our cultural system." The construction of ecological civilization must start from the vast number of young people and guide everyone to establish the concept of ecological civilization that loves nature and protects the environment from childhood. China Eco-Culture Association will actively participate in the activities of "promoting ecological civilization and building a green campus", adhere to the purpose of "promoting ecological culture, advocating green life and building ecological civilization", strive to integrate ecology into life, use culture to unite strength, further enhance the affinity and attraction of ecological culture to young people, and strengthen the power of ecological civilization construction in China. On this basis, it was adapted into a popular textbook to provide a simple ecological culture textbook for schools.
