(1) Parallel argumentative essays have clear ideas.
In the way of argumentation, in order to facilitate the discussion, the central argument of the article is decomposed into several parallel sub-arguments, or arguments are juxtaposed, and the argumentation relationship of several levels or paragraphs is parallel, which is called juxtaposition. For example, in 2004, Fujian's perfect composition "Striving for Victory in Stability" revealed the central argument "Calm, Striving for Victory in Stability", and the article fully discussed it from three aspects: "Calm comes from will, calm comes from difficulty, and calm comes from no desire". These three sub-arguments * * * prove the central argument, with sufficient argumentation and clear structure.
The advantage of parallel argument is that it can discuss viewpoints from multiple angles and directions, which makes the article clear and fully discussed, and avoids the shortcomings of one-sided and vague discussion.
(2) This argumentative writing mode is practical and easy to learn.
In the teaching process, we use two 90-minute classes in succession, including the first 30 minutes of writing instruction and the last 60 minutes of actual combat drills. We mainly introduce three modes, and each mode has examples, which are printed and distributed to students, so that students can see at a glance. In actual combat drills, because teachers provide arguments and arguments, students only need to choose one of the three modes to write, so many students can complete a relatively standardized argumentative essay in a limited time.
But in next week's composition training, we will not provide arguments and arguments, so that students can learn to write by themselves.
(3) There are several points worth noting.
First, we should avoid choosing arguments from the same angle. Choosing an argument from the same angle lacks breadth, which leads to the monotonous argument and the biased and pale argument; Choosing arguments from different angles is not only rich and comprehensive, but also typical and concise, making the article rigorous and powerful.
Second, generally speaking, there is no difference between several sub-arguments. But in writing, it's better to put the important ones first and then the secondary ones, so that the order is more reasonable.
Third, parallel prose should pay special attention to avoid giving people the feeling of generalities, and pay attention to it.
Fourthly, when most students learn to write parallel argumentative essays, they should be taught to write progressive argumentative essays and comparative argumentative essays immediately, so that students can have a variety of choices.
