North Minzu University is located in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is a comprehensive university for nationalities, which was jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the China Academy of Sciences and the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and supported by Hefei University of Technology. It was selected as one of the first universities to implement the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students.
