Experts from the World Health Organization have recently confirmed that the "Deltarjon" virus strain has been found in many countries, which is a recombination of Delta and Omicron virus strains mutated in COVID-19.

The "Global Influenza Data Initiative * * *" gene platform also announced that there is "reliable evidence" to confirm the emergence of recombinant strains of Delta and Omicron strains. Omicron strains account for the vast majority of COVID-19 strains prevalent in the world at present. Among the COVID-19 gene sequences uploaded to the platform of Global Influenza Data Initiative, Omicron strains account for about 99.7%. Researchers from the Pasteur Institute in France and the Spiral Laboratory in California also published papers, claiming to have discovered new mutant strains. In June 5438+10, some researchers announced the discovery of this recombinant strain, but at that time, many experts thought that the new strain might be caused by laboratory pollution and could not be obtained.

Experts believe that Delta and Omicron strains infected with the same cells can exchange genetic materials with each other during the process of virus replication, thus forming the "Delta Taqiong" strain. At present, researchers have not officially named this recombinant strain. According to WHO, the epidemiology and severity of this strain have not changed yet, and further monitoring and research are needed for this new strain. According to experts from the Pasteur Institute in France, the "Delta Male" strain is very rare, and its transmission efficiency and lethality are similar to those of the Omicron strain.
