Electric water heater is a kind of household appliance that can be used in bathroom, toilet and kitchen. The traditional mechanical electric water heater in the market has low control accuracy and poor reliability. With the improvement of people's quality of life, people's requirements for electric water heaters are becoming more and more intelligent and digital. Information from the market and industry shows that convenience, safety, centralization and miniaturization will be the future development trend of water heaters. This design introduces the basic method of constructing electric water heater controller with single chip microcomputer. The controller of electric water heater with perfect functions can be constructed by using AT89C series single chip microcomputer. The design of the controller can be divided into five steps: overall scheme, hardware design, software design, debugging and solidification. Its hardware system consists of three parts: input, single chip microcomputer and output. The software system design adopts modular structure, which is mainly composed of main program, interrupt service program and several function module subroutines. The advance of heating time can be inferred from the timing of single chip microcomputer, which realizes the function of saving electricity and avoids the occurrence of hot water to some extent.
