Let's go Surveying and Mapping Science (bimonthly) magazine is a first-class academic and technical core periodical of high-level surveying and mapping, which is supervised by the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping and sponsored by China Academy of Surveying and Mapping. Founded in 1976, published on 20th of every month. Surveying and Mapping Science is the core periodical of science and technology in China, the core periodical of Chinese in China, the core periodical of Chinese science citation database and the high-quality periodical of science and technology in China. It has been included by Russian Digest magazine, one of the six international retrieval institutions, and Japan Science and Technology Express of Japan Science and Technology Society, and also by the rapidly developing Cambridge Science Digest of the United States. At the same time, there are only three kinds of surveying and mapping periodicals in China collected by the above retrieval institutions, such as Surveying and Mapping Science.

The publication volume and circulation of this magazine are among the best in China. All the published papers are original, and many research papers supported by the National Surveying and Mapping Natural Science Foundation and the National "863", "973" and Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Fund projects are published in this journal for the first time. At present, the proportion of fund papers has reached more than 60-70%, which is also high in academic journals.

In the editorial board of Surveying and Mapping Science, there are five academicians from China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering 15, and each issue has articles signed by several academicians, including Chen, Chen Junyong, Ning Jinsheng, Wang, Wei Ziqing, Xu Houze and Yang Yuanxi 10. Surveying and mapping science has become an important position for famous scientists to publish their scientific research achievements and reflect their academic attainments. The main columns are: academician's special feature, basic research, innovative application, research progress, surveying and mapping observation, grid exploration, interdisciplinary, research summary and other columns.
