Do you set yourself five or six alarm clocks in order to get up and run at 6 o'clock every morning? Do you really think that you will really get up and run with such a strong and continuous forced stimulus?
In order to pass CET-6, have you set yourself to recite 50 words every day and write them down? If you can't finish reciting words, don't play with your mobile phone. When you execute them, do you really recite the whole word book without secretly playing with your mobile phone? And then you really passed Band 6 at one time?
Do you often push yourself, not to be excellent, but to despair, and find that you don't have that great ability, you lack perseverance, you lack the spirit of suffering, and you are weak? It's not the famous inspirational sentence at all: I don't know how good I am unless I push myself. However, I didn't write this article to criticize this sentence. On the contrary, I quite agree with this sentence.
The first time I saw the sentence "Don't push yourself, I don't know how good I am", I saw it from a classmate's signature, and I found it particularly well written and very inspirational. I firmly remember this sentence. This sentence really warmed some people, and more and more friends changed their personal signatures to this sentence.
This sentence is so popular because it gives people a psychological hint that I am not good now because I have not forced myself, which is also a psychological comfort and will give people a feeling that once I force myself, I can get rid of the immediate difficulties and mediocrity and become good immediately. At present, it is mediocre because it has not reached the point of forcing itself.
I once read a story written by an author, saying that when she was a child, she had a kind of psychology, and she was looking forward to something at home. The best thing is that her family has fallen, she doesn't have enough food, and she lives a very miserable life. She thinks that only by putting herself in such a miserable situation will she have a strong motivation to study hard and be admitted to Tsinghua Peking University. She believes that only by pushing herself to the wall can she break out of potential and become excellent.
The author finally woke up. She said that when I was a child, I thought so because I read too many stories about the inspirational success of children from poor families, but I ignored that children with good family conditions and high academic qualifications have more prospects. Poverty does not mean Excellence. Those who live in poverty at a young age can become outstanding because of their attitude towards poverty.
Some people may still have this mentality and think that they are not excellent, but they have not pushed themselves to the wall. These people think that as long as they work hard, they will be excellent, successful and make a lot of money. In fact, many people fail in the face of despair, and those who have a successful career are not necessarily those who suffered a lot as children.
Forcing yourself is not your own Excellence, but finding your own incompetence and weakness in the process of forcing yourself. Some people become excellent because they are ashamed of their incompetence and weakness, and then they are ashamed and brave, while some people do not become excellent because they lack a strong sense of shame after discovering their weakness and incompetence, and do not turn this compulsion into a passion for Excellence.
For example, parents criticize children with poor academic performance, and poor students will be unconvinced and disgusted. Parents think that poor students' grades are poor because they don't focus on their studies and only play all day. If these poor students don't work hard, they won't have strong rebellious behavior. The reason why they have such a strong rebellious behavior is that poor students have silently forced themselves many times, and finally found themselves unable to get good grades in the exam, only to find themselves more and more incompetent in their studies and finally had to give up on themselves.
It's not that poor students don't force themselves to study, and it's not that they don't want to work hard. In fact, people who fail are forced to be hard on themselves. In the end, I didn't succeed and become excellent, just because I was forced too many times. After I forced myself, I discovered my incompetence and weakness, and finally gave up on myself.
Take the sentence "I don't know how good I am if I don't push myself". Some people take this sentence as a kind of psychological comfort, but they don't realize the real meaning behind it. When some people force themselves to work hard and find that they didn't succeed in the end, they will doubt this sentence and deny it, thinking it is meaningless chicken soup. Essentially, they didn't understand the deep meaning behind this sentence, which is what I said: it's not that chicken soup is useless, but that people who drink chicken soup are useless and their IQ is not enough to absorb the nutrition of chicken soup.
Sometimes, we will meet some people who don't work hard. These people always treat hard-working people with detachment and irony. They are cynical about hard-working people, who like to spread negative energy best. In fact, these people do not want to work hard, nor do they want to be better, but they dare not work hard and have fear in their hearts. Because they have worked hard and forced themselves to be excellent, only to find that the harder they work, the more they find themselves incompetent and mediocre. In order not to beat themselves out of the water and not to be laughed at by others for being stupid, they gave up their efforts. If you give up your efforts, you will be psychologically distorted and ridiculed by those who work hard.
Before pushing ourselves, we are always used to overestimating our abilities. Some people are too confident in their contacts, friends, IQ and perseverance. When they really encounter an emergency, they find that what they once thought they had is so illusory and vulnerable.
When you come across a working software that needs to be mastered quickly, can you learn it in a short time? Many times, when we push ourselves, we will recognize the reality and ourselves. We are not as strong as we think, but if we push ourselves, we can become excellent. Whether we can be strong and excellent after recognizing the reality and ourselves depends on our incompetent and mediocre attitude, whether we are brave after knowing shame or give up on ourselves.
