How to insert footnotes in papers
To add footnotes to a paper:

1, move the cursor

To add, you need to first determine the position of the cited and explained documents in the article, and then move the cursor to the position where the footnote needs to be inserted after entering the paper document.

2. Click Insert Footnote.

Click the reference option in the menu bar above, and then click the Insert Footnote option in the Footnotes ribbon.

Step 3 generate footnotes

The document will automatically generate the footnote number according to the position where the footnote is inserted, and at the same time generate the footnote content area in the footer.

Step 4 Enter the content

Just enter the explanation and expansion of the annotation content in the footnote content area, and the footnote needs to be modified as needed. On the Insert Footnote drop-down page, you can change the position, layout, format and starting number of footnotes.

Step 5 use shortcut keys

You can also press ctrl+alt+F to quickly insert a footnote after selecting a location.
