What do oak trees and reeds tell us?
The enlightenment of oak and reed is that we should treat things rationally, make rational use of our own advantages and don't ridicule others at will. We should be like reeds, small but witty and brave, and keep a normal heart. The arrogance of this oak tree caused it to be uprooted by the wind.

This fable poem is taken from Aesop's fable Reed and Olive Tree. Oak generally represents strength, and it is obviously much more powerful to use it instead of olive tree to express the moral lesson of fable. In this poem, the oak tree embodies the proud owner of power. He soared to the sky, "Mount Caucasus above his head". The storm was like a breeze to him, and his greatness and firmness seemed invincible.
