Geographical indications, as an important part of intellectual property rights, have effectively promoted the integration of resources and the benign development of characteristic industries. However, due to the rampant counterfeit products in recent years, geographical indications in the national market have not played their due role. Starting from the importance of legal protection of geographical indications, this paper analyzes the present situation of geographical indications protection, and further draws the conclusion of strengthening legal protection of geographical indications. Moreover, there are many problems in the construction of geographical indication protection system in China at present, which makes it difficult for geographical indication protection to meet the practical needs. By learning from the experience of protecting geographical indications abroad and combining with China's basic national conditions, the author puts forward some concrete suggestions on improving the legal protection of geographical indications in China.
