Professor Liu Zhonghua has long been engaged in the study of tea science and functional components of medicinal plant resources. He has profound academic attainments and high academic status in the fields of tea science research, such as tea functional component chemistry, tea deep processing and comprehensive utilization, tea processing theory and new technology, tea manufacturing chemistry and product chemistry, plant functional component separation and purification engineering, and natural health food development. In recent years, he has presided over and participated in the National 973 Plan, the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation, the international scientific and technological cooperation project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the major high-tech industrialization project of the National Development and Reform Commission, the industrial support plan project of the Ministry of Agriculture, the scientific and technological innovation fund project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the key scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Finance, and the major scientific and technological projects of Hunan Province, and obtained more than 32 million yuan of scientific research funds. He has successively won the second prize of national science and technology progress 1 (first), the first prize of Hunan science and technology progress 1 (first), the second prize of Hunan science and technology progress 1 (first), the third prize of Hunan science and technology progress 2 (first), the third prize of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the third prize of the Ministry of Commerce. The first prize of teaching achievement in Hunan Province 1, the fourth prize of scientific and technological progress in the Ministry of Foreign Trade 1, three gold medals for inventions and new products in the United States, three gold medals for patented products of new technologies in China and two national patents. Authorized 3 national invention patents, published 3 national invention patents and applied for 4 national invention patents. He has published more than 80 academic papers1in core academic journals at home and abroad, and edited books and textbooks 15 such as Tea Processing, Top Ten Famous Tea in Hunan, Tea Products Processing in China, Green Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Modern Chemical Commodity Manufacturing Technology.
