2. 1993- 1995 participated in the "Experimental Study on Combined Liver-Small Intestine Transplantation in Rats" led by Professor Ken Wang, and established the animal model of combined liver-small intestine transplantation for the first time in China, which confirmed the protective effect of liver on small intestine in combined liver-small intestine transplantation.
3. 1996- 1999 participated in the experimental study of suicide gene therapy for liver cancer and transfection method of therapeutic gene in vivo, which was presided over by Professor Wu Zaide. In vitro experiments confirmed the effectiveness of tk suicide gene in killing hepatocellular carcinoma cells, and in vivo experiments confirmed that hepatic artery injection and embolization were effective methods for targeted gene introduction in vivo. The doctoral thesis based on this research won the Excellent Doctoral Thesis Award in Hubei Province in 2000.
4. From 2000 to 2003, we studied the microvessel density and VEGF expression in children with hepatocellular carcinoma by immunohistochemistry. It is found and confirmed that children's liver tumors have stronger vascular regeneration ability than adults, so they have the results of fast growth, fast metastasis, easy recurrence after operation and poor prognosis. It is suggested that controlling the ability of vascular regeneration should be a direction to treat children's liver tumors and prolong the postoperative survival rate of children.
5. From 2003 to 2004, we began to study the pathological and clinical diagnostic characteristics of Hirschsprung's disease, clarified that there were significant differences in conventional diagnostic methods between Hirschsprung's disease and its borderline diseases, and summarized their diagnostic characteristics to guide the clinic.
6. From 2004 to 2006, I studied the effects of short bowel syndrome and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) on intestinal epithelial physiology and immune function in the pediatric surgery department of Mott Children's Hospital, University of Michigan Medical Center. Based on the establishment of TPN animal model, the changes of interleukin 4,6, 10 in cytokines and their effects on intestinal function were studied emphatically. It was found and confirmed that cytokines expressed by intestinal epithelial lymphocytes after TPN can act on epithelial cell connexin and destroy intestinal epithelial barrier. The first author and co-author have completed 6 papers and published 4 papers.
