[Teaching Thinking] Empire and Civilization Exchange in the Ancient World
Curriculum standard requires: to understand the regional influence of ancient empire and the early connection between different civilizations.

Teaching material analysis: According to the first lesson, students have understood the pluralistic characteristics of the development of ancient civilization. Because of the limitation of geographical conditions, there are many civilizations and few contacts. Geographical conditions have also become the reasons for the formation of distinctive civilizations. After students understand the characteristics and causes of different civilizations, they actually laid the foundation for the second lesson.

The first article talks about the expansion of ancient civilization and the development of agricultural civilization, which created the social division of labor and the improvement of productivity, and also laid the foundation for the unification of the empire. Marine civilization itself has a kind of expansibility, and ancient Greek civilization expanded rapidly through immigration and establishment of colonies.

The second chapter is the empire of the ancient world, three empires: Persian Empire, Alexander Empire and Roman Empire. The instinctive expansion of civilization will inevitably lead to the rise of the empire, which will further consolidate and expand the ancient civilization. To make it clear how the empire rose, it must be inseparable from its internal system. As a history, the rise of the empire is bound to decline, and the reasons for the decline are worth exploring.

The third chapter is the exchange of civilizations, which mainly focuses on the connection and influence of civilizations in different regions. In particular, the spread and evolution of Phoenician letters are mentioned. There are also exchanges between China and foreign countries, and the connection between the Roman Empire and the Han Dynasty through the Silk Road.
