Campus network has become an indispensable supporting environment for campus study, work and life. Various types of campus teaching, research and learning activities have played a great role in supporting and promoting. Wireless local area network (WLAN) is a new type of campus network connection mode which is rapidly popularized in recent years. Compared with wired local area network, WLAN has considerable advantages. However, the physical characteristics of WLAN itself also lead to many weaknesses in security and reliability. The particularity of campus WLAN environment makes campus environment more prone to security problems. The campus network security technology of WLAN has become an important research content of campus network construction.

On the basis of studying the current wired and wireless LAN security technologies, this paper analyzes the principles of these security technologies and discusses their loopholes and shortcomings. Combined with the actual operation characteristics of network security in campus environment, the network security events related to WLAN are screened and analyzed. Explore the principle of its occurrence and the degree of damage. Research related hardware and software security devices and mechanisms to provide a safe and confidential technical application of campus WLAN for the deployment and reliable implementation of WLAN. Under the premise of making full use of the existing network facilities on campus, this scheme strives to maximize the security performance of WLAN. Respond to these two kinds of network security incidents in time and use appropriate security policies to deal with them. Thus, while maintaining the reliable and convenient network characteristics of WLAN, it can meet the growing security requirements of campus WLAN.

In this study, the application of WLAN security technology, the paper in a specific campus environment, using typical characteristics of WLAN area for network security testing. The results show that the scheme obviously improves the security of campus network environment and wireless LAN. It can realize the security and stability of the network in the complex wireless LAN environment and prevent common attacks against the wireless LAN. The ability of other types of WLAN to defend against attacks has been greatly improved. However, when a security incident occurs in WLAN, it does greatly reduce the scope and influence of network failure and shorten the network recovery time. The scheme does not affect the use of existing network applications on campus, and realizes the unity of security and convenience.
