Method for cultivating red snapper coral

Soil requirements

During cultivation, the basin soil should be sandy soil with good drainage and permeability and rich calcium. It can be prepared from 3 parts of river sand, 2 parts of shells, 2 parts of coal cinder and 3 parts of humus soil (pond soil).

Planting method

Prepare a large basin (coarse mud basin is suitable), mix the soil well and keep a little humidity. Select some robust stem segments (one segment is enough) and plant them in the pot, then spray water to make the surface of the pot soil adhere, and then directly expose them to the sun. Don't water it often, the soil in the basin will keep dry. After a while, some stems will begin to grow golden thorns, and the stems will begin to flatten and widen, and there will be a palm-shaped trend.

You can't water it often, which is the way to force the palm stem to grow. If the new plant is always high-quality and moist from the beginning, then the new stem will not have the tendency to applaud, but will be as long as the original plant. When the stem is about 2cm wide, it can be eaten.

Fertilization method

Ji Coral should avoid applying chemical fertilizer, which may easily lead to root rot. Little or no chemical fertilizer should be applied, and the decomposed baking liquid can be applied twice every half month in late spring, late summer and early autumn. Potted soil should be dry, but not wet. If it is too humid for a long time, it will cause the lower part of the plant to rot and soon spread to the whole plant.

Lighting requirements

If the coral is kept indoors in poor light for a long time, it will grow white, the new stems will be light green and become very slender, and the whole plant will have another flavor. However, if it is moved outdoors later, the regenerated stems will become thicker, which will seriously affect the shape of the whole plant. So don't change the lighting conditions of corals at will, and keep the lighting relatively stable.

Matters needing attention in Japanese coral culture

Change the basin once a year.

In the second year after transplantation, the pot soil was changed before the spring growth period, and the management remained unchanged. In the vigorous growth period, a completely palm-shaped stem will grow, but at this time the stem is not very big and the plant is not tall. If you want to get bigger stems, you must break some extra stems and buds to make them "stand out". In the spring of the third year, put a bigger pot. If properly managed, it will grow out in the vigorous growth period, which should be the largest stem segment.

Avoid decay

Fully formed palmately grown plants should be carefully watered and fertilized. Once it rots, it will be a huge loss of years of hard work. Pay attention to the following points: 1. Avoid applying thick fertilizer. 2. Dry is better than wet. 3. Keep plenty of sunshine.
